This unpaid internship is for Fall/Winter 2026.
Duties
This position is an unpaid internship working with the Special Operations Division in the Child Care Center. The intern's major duties are below: Assist with the age-appropriate activities that promote early childhood development and learning. Assist the staff with maintaining a safe, welcoming environment for children while the parents/guardians attend to Court business. Assist with facilitating creative play, story time, and interactive games to engage children. Assist the staff with daily operations of the drop-in center, including setup and transition between activities. Gain hands-on experience in a licensed setting. (This experience can be applied toward fieldwork for ECE/CDA credentialing requirements.) The position is flexible to focus the duties to meet the interests and goals of the intern.
Requirements
Must be a U.S. Citizen or authorized by the Immigration and Naturalization Service to intern in the United States. Must be 18 years of age or older. The selected candidate must complete a fingerprinting background check, a Child Protection Registry (CPR) check, and undergo a health clearance screening. Enrolled or accepted for enrollment as a full-time or part-time undergraduate student. Must be able to commit to a minimum of 10 hours per week.
