The incumbent serves as a senior remediation specialist and project lead providing assistance and guidance concerning financial statement and process deficiencies.

Duties

As a Financial Management Specialist at the GS-0501-13 some of your typical work assignments may include: Serves as a senior remediation specialist and project lead providing assistance and guidance concerning financial statement and process deficiencies. Plans remediation program activities, conduct root cause analyses, develop remediation plans, and implement corrective actions for internal and external accounting, audit, and budget deficiencies. Manages financial improvement and audit remediation activities. Develops and maintains supporting documentation for remediation activities and policy revisions. Develops accounting, audit, and internal control policies and practices impacting Transportation Working Capital Fund financial reporting, operating results, and auditability. Collaborates with key stakeholders to improve internal controls, policies, and procedures.
