Summary

The Office of Library Services (OLS) provides grants to enhance the quality of library services in all types of libraries, and grants to support education and training in library, archival and information science. Some of the grant programs include the National Leadership Grant, the Laura Bush 21st Century Librarian Program, Grants to States, and the Native American and Native Hawaiian Library Service programs, etc.

Duties

If selected for the Grants Management Specialist position, the incumbent will serve as Senior Program Officer with primary responsibility for managing a variety of assigned grant programs (e.g., National Leadership Grants, Laura Bush 21st Century Librarian Program, Grants to States, Native American and Native Hawaiian Library Services Programs, etc.) within the Office of Library Services (OLS). Typical assignments will include but are not limited to: Serves the library community as an expert and source of information and knowledge about the grant programs of the agency. Administers and/or awards grants, technical training and oversight for internal and external stakeholders, grantee compliance oversight, and post-award assessments. Maintains relationships with library staffs to acquaint them with the grant program and recruit them as possible reviewers and uses every opportunity to spread the word about the grant programs. Performs other duties as assigned.

Veterans' preference eligibles who meet the minimum qualification requirements and who have a compensable service-connected disability of at least 10 percent will be listed in the highest quality category (except in the case of scientific or professional positions at the GS-09 level or higher).
