Summary

Duties
As a Management and Program Analyst (Wildland Fire), your duties will include but are not limited to the following: Applies analytical and evaluative methods to well precedented projects and assignments involving procedural or factual issues and readily observable conditions in support of wildland fire business and mission-support activities. Performs assigned segments of management studies and analytical projects addressing program effectiveness, efficiency, compliance, and service delivery within wildland fire mission-support functions. Compiles, updates, and maintains recurring reporting products used to monitor program activity, workload, cost trends, and other indicators using established formats and definitions. Maintains working relationships with internal staff and partners to support information exchange; refers unresolved issues to higher-level staff as appropriate. Participates on project teams and working groups by compiling inputs, documenting agreed-upon actions, and preparing draft summaries that translate data and findings into clear information for management review. Probation/Trial Period As a condition of employment for accepting this position, you may be required to serve a 1-year probationary period during which your fitness and whether your continued employment advances the public interest will be evaluated. The probationary period is an extension of the appointment process and therefore requires the agency to determine if continued employment would advance the public interest, meet the organization goals and mission of the agency, and/or otherwise promote the efficiency of the service. Requirements
Must be a U.S. Citizen or National. Suitability for Federal employment, as determined by background investigation. Direct Deposit Required. Qualifications and evaluation

This assessment will measure the critical competencies listed below that are required to successfully perform in the position. Data Management: Knowledge of the principles, procedures, and tools of data management, such as modeling techniques, data backup, data recovery, data dictionaries, data warehousing, data mining, data disposal, and data standardization processes. Manages and Organizes Information: Determines objectives and strategies; coordinates with other parts of the organization to accomplish goals; monitors and evaluates the progress and outcomes of operational plans; anticipates potential threats or opportunities. Project Management: Applies principles, methods, or tools for developing, scheduling, coordinating, monitoring, evaluating, and managing projects and resources, including technical performance. Technical Competence: Uses knowledge that is acquired through formal training or extensive on-the-job experience to perform one's job; works with, understands, and evaluates technical information related to the job; advises others on technical issues. In the evaluation process, due weight will be given to job related experience, education, training, incentive awards and performance appraisals. Applicants must have a performance rating of at least the equivalent of fully successful to be eligible for promotion or placement. Applicants may provide a copy of a performance appraisal of record dated within the last 18 months. If the applicant is unable to provide a performance appraisal of record dated within the last 18 months, the applicant may provide a written explanation as to why. Education
