Job Overview

The Macy’s Santaland Train Conductor is an ambassador of Santaland charged with helping to spread cheer and goodwill among This position is responsible for customer service, entertainment, and crowd control throughout the Macy’s Santaland attraction.  This position is responsible for managing the operational flow of guests after they enter the attraction to board the Santaland Train and begin an interactive experience prior to entering Santaland. Performers must pass background checks and commit to potential work on evenings and weekends during the holiday season.

What You Will Do

• Customer Service
  • Welcome all Macy’s Santaland guests aboard the Santaland Express with consistent cheerful and holiday disposition
  • Answer questions from visitors in the attraction
  • Always maintain a cheerful, upbeat demeanor while working in the attraction in front of guests
  • Maintain secular conversations with guests
• Entertainment
  • Always be in Conductor costume or uniform (provided by Macy’s)
  • Always remain in character
  • Memorize and perform light scripted dialogue that pertains to the train car experience and journey to Santaland
  • Assist with loading guests into designated attraction area and firing attraction cues
  • Pose for photographs with guests
• Crowd Management

  • Assist with safely managing capacity of the train car experience and maintaining crowd entry to and exit from the train car

     

Skills You Will Need

Communication Skills: Knowledge of a second language helpful. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Second language/ ASL a plus

Reasoning Ability: Must have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Must be able to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Present a professional image consistent with Macy's brand values

Other Skills: High level of positive energy required and strong improvisational skills required

Who You Are

• Candidates required to have theatrical, acting and/or performance arts experience.
• Exceptional customer service skills required
• Prolonged standing and walking required in this role
• Able to work a flexible schedule and available to work retail hours which may include day, evening, weekends and/or holidays
