Duties
The United States Space Force (USSF) Combat Forces Command (CFC) Space Acquisition and Integration Office (SAIO) at Peterson Space Force Base is searching for a Chief, Acquisition Support Division (NH-1102-04, GS 14/15 equivalent). Description: The Space Acquisition and Integration Office is seeking a mission-focused, people-first leader to serve as Chief of the Acquisition Support Division. This experienced professional will be responsible for building a high-performing organization by mentoring future acquisition leaders and providing direct oversight to three dynamic teams. In this key supervisory role, you will spearhead vital contracting programs, manage all acquisition data and reporting functions, and exercise delegated contracting authorities, all while ensuring the successful execution of critical national security priorities. The ideal candidate is a visionary acquisition executive with a proven track record of success and a current or fully clearable TS/SCI clearance. This leader must possess an Unlimited Contracting Officer Warrant and demonstrate extensive experience managing complex portfolios, directing large-scale divisions, and expertly supervising teams. We are seeking a strategic professional who can seamlessly navigate the specialized procurement landscapes of the DoW, Department of the Air Force, and U.S. Space Force to drive mission success. Key Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of laws, regulations, policies, procedures, methods and techniques concerning the acquisition and life-cycle management of services contracts. Knowledge of the missions, roles, functions, organizational structures, and operation of the Department of War, Department of the Air Force, Space Force, and organizations that govern, interface with, and/or influence the acquisition process. Knowledge of the principles, methods, and tools used for requirements development and risk identification, assessment, and handling including assessing the probability and consequences of potential risks. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff of a medium to large sized divisions. Ability to execute complex portfolios, acquisitions, and/or special projects within established time constraints. Ability to identify problems, develop and implement innovative detailed strategies to resolve a wide range of acquisition and contract issues. Ability to develop, analyze, and integrate metrics and process improvement for a variety of acquisition functions and portfolios. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy. Ability to establish and maintain relationships with key individuals/groups within and outside immediate work unit. Ability to advise mid and senior-level leaders, Program Acquisition Executives, and mission partner representatives.
