This vacancy is for a GS-1301-12, Interdisciplinary Environmental Management Specialist located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, SILC, ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT DIVISION in NORFOLK, Virginia.

Duties

You will serve as a Interdisciplinary Environmental Management Specialist and be responsible for assisting with the effective and efficient execution and management of the USCG's multi-faceted environmental program incorporating broad programmatic aspects of environmental planning, compliance, restoration and management of environmental liabilities and sustainability/stewardship in support of USCG operations and missions. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include: Serving as a subject matter expert directing, guiding, and supporting implementation of a CG environmental program. Providing authoritative guidance, technical assistance, training, and professional development to units and personnel. Developing and disseminating job guides, best management practices, and other technical guidance to achieve regulatory compliance and promote environmental stewardship. Providing technical support and environmental program guidance to units and personnel executing civil engineering and facilities management projects. Reviewing planning documents, scopes of work, and other project documents for regulatory compliance and conformance with Coast Guard environmental program policy, goals. and objectives. Conducting audits of unit compliance management programs. Requirements

This position does have a positive education requirement.
