Summary

This position is located in the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA), Executive Office for Immigration Review, U. S. Department of Justice. This position analyzes program operations, information systems, and case management data to improve efficiency, develop reports, support system improvements, and provide recommendations to management. This is a Competitive Service position; additional positions may be filled from this announcement within 90 days of certificate issuance.

Duties

The duties and responsibilities for a Management & Program Analyst, GS-0343-12/13 generally include, but are not limited to, the following: Evaluating program operations and information systems to identify opportunities that improve efficiency, productivity, and case management. Defining information system requirements and evaluates system parameters to support development and testing activities. Developing automated reports from case management databases to support operational assessments and management decisions. Analyzing complex data to produce quantitative and qualitative findings that address program performance and procedural issues. Monitoring case management and production data to ensure reports are accurate, consistent, and issued on schedule. Coordinating management studies and system initiatives with information technology staff and other organizational components. Presenting analytical findings and recommendations to management through reports, briefings, and data visualization tools.

Qualifications and evaluation

Applicants applying under Delegated Examining (all U.S. citizens) procedures will be evaluated under DOJ's Category Rating and Selection Procedures. If it is determined you meet minimum qualification requirements, your application will then be placed in one of three categories: Best Qualified, Well Qualified, or Qualified. Within these categories, applicants eligible for Veterans' Preference will receive selection priority over non-veteran preference eligibles. Candidates placed in the "Best Qualified" category will be identified for referral to the hiring manager for further review and consideration. Conditions of Employment: Only U.S. Citizens or Nationals are eligible for employment with the Executive Office for Immigration Review. Dual citizens of the U.S. and another country will be considered on a case-by-case basis. All DOJ applicants, both U.S. citizens and non-citizens, whose job location is with the U.S., must meet the residency requirement.
