Job Description

The Wealth Management Investment Portfolio Manager manages individual and trust account assets and investment relationships in line with client and company investment objectives. The role supports client retention and business growth, partnering closely with a Trust Officer to help grow, expand, and retain Wealth Management relationships. Although not always the primary relationship manager, the Portfolio Manager may serve in a co-relationship capacity. The role requires effective use of technology and digital tools to improve efficiency, scale the business, and create more time for meaningful client engagement.

THREE KEY COMPONENTS OF THE ROLE:

The role is centered on three key components that work together to deliver a comprehensive client experience and support business growth, while leveraging technology to increase efficiency, scale service delivery, and allow for more time in direct client engagement:

Investment Management – Oversees client portfolios and trust assets in alignment with established investment objectives, risk parameters, and company guidelines, while making sound and timely investment decisions and using technology to improve analytical efficiency, streamline workflows, and support scalable portfolio oversight.

Relationship Management – Grows, expands, and retains client relationships through responsive service and proactive outreach that enhances the client experience. This includes identifying opportunities to connect clients with relevant people, products, and services that add value, strengthen relationships, and support responsible business growth, while using technology to improve responsiveness and create more time for meaningful client interaction.

Financial Planning – Partners with clients and internal teams to align investment strategies with broader financial goals, helping ensure recommendations support each client’s overall wealth planning needs, while using planning tools and technology to increase consistency, efficiency, and scalability.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
- 10 or more years of investment experience

Preferred Skills/Experience
- Thorough understanding of investment management
- Strong knowledge of finance, economics, and general business
- Effective sales and relationship management/client services skills
- Ability to effectively present investment strategies to clients
- Ability to make critical decisions independently
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills

- CFP, CFA, ChFC preferred

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $111,605.00 - $131,300.00
