We're seeking someone to join our team as a Director on the Central Data Team within Operations Risk & Regulatory Control (ORRC). This role will translate strategy into execution by establishing governance routines, improving data quality and lineage, and enabling automation and AI. You will work closely with Silo Data Leads, Technology, the central Transformation team, and ORRC Data Strategy to coordinate delivery, standardize reusable patterns, and move teams from tactical files to certified, well-controlled data sources.
In the Operations division, we partner with business units across the Firm to support financial transactions, devise and implement effective controls, and develop client relationships. This is a Team Specialist position at the Director level within Change, Analytics & Strategy, which is responsible for developing operating and technology strategies, managing and executing transformation initiatives, leading Agile fleet activities, driving innovation, developing analytics solutions, and delivering business outcomes.

What you'll do in the role:
> Manage complex processes and support significant process management or project efforts.
> Lead process improvement, project management, or technology development and testing across multiple teams and divisions.
> Analyse and expose ambiguous, complex, or non-standard issues; identify risks and root causes; and propose future actions through to resolution.
> Build and manage relationships with business unit partners, other Morgan Stanley infrastructure departments, and external contacts in client or market organisations.
> Implement and sustain governance frameworks and control routines aligned with firmwide standards and regulatory requirements.
> Manage the regional Opportunities Backlog day to day by refining requirements, articulating value, and coordinating sequencing with partners.
> Drive data quality, lineage, and access controls that support automation and AI; track metrics and escalate risks promptly.
> Coordinate delivery with Silo Data Leads and Technology; standardise patterns and share reusable assets across silos.
> Enable adoption of data tools and training; publish documentation, dashboards, and progress reports to stakeholders.
What you'll bring to the role:
> Front-to-back knowledge of the processes, projects, systems, markets, and instruments that influence the team, with a comprehensive understanding of job-related operational and compliance policies and procedures.
> Ability to think commercially and understand the impact of initiatives and risks on the operational budget.
> Ability to address non-standard issues within the area of expertise.
> Culture carrier and role model, representing and leading the Firm's core values to influence and motivate those around you.
> At least five years' experience in data management, governance, or operational risk within financial services, including coordination of cross-functional delivery and governance routines.
> Advanced skills in risk management and control, business knowledge and experti What you'll bring to the role
> Ability to lead by example, work with drive and determination, and confidently present constructive challenge to senior stakeholders.
> Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the functional area, including relevant operational and compliance policies and procedures.
> Ability to operate independently across the majority of day-to-day responsibilities.
> Culture carrier across Operations, embracing the Firm's core values and acting as a role model for others.
> Experience applying sound judgement, problem-solving skills, and strong communication to support effective delivery and stakeholder engagement.
> At least four years' relevant experience would generally be expected to demonstrate the skills required for this role.

Salary range for the position: $64,000 and $107,500 per year. The successful candidate may be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive compensation award. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which also may include a discretionary bonus component.
