Duties

The United States Space Force (USSF) Combat Forces Command (CFC) Space Delta 7 (DEL 7) 76th Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (76 ISRS) at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio is searching for an IT Specialist (GG-2210-12). Description: This position serves as a full-performance Information Technology Specialist for the 76th Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance Squadron (ISRS), embedded within a multi-squadron and interagency task force supporting Space Delta 7. The specialist is the primary IT expert responsible for the operational functionality and reliability of numerous classified domains and information systems. Key responsibilities include providing comprehensive system administration for classified workstations and servers across multiple operating systems; planning, installing, and troubleshooting hardware, software, and network interfaces; and upholding security integrity by managing access controls, detecting and removing cyber vulnerabilities, and ensuring compliance with Department of Defense and Air Force policies. The role also involves serving as a senior IT advisor to leadership, analyzing performance data to resolve complex technical issues, and interfacing with organizational customers to ensure all technological requirements meet their desired objectives. The ideal candidate for this role is a professional with a comprehensive understanding of IT principles, concepts, and methods, particularly in a complex classified environment. This individual should possess extensive knowledge and skill in developing interpersonal relationships, maintaining working relations, and organizing work to meet changing deadlines. Essential qualifications include deep technical expertise in operating systems, associated devices, and system interoperability to install, upgrade, test, and maintain servers and networks, ensuring their availability, integrity, and efficiency. The candidate must be adept at systems analysis, with the ability to evaluate new and emerging IT security methods, design and maintain information systems, and ensure successful integration with existing infrastructure. Furthermore, the ideal candidate will have proven experience in planning and scheduling hardware and software installations, managing user accounts and network rights, and rigorously applying information security policies to safeguard classified information. Key Skills and Abilities: 1. Knowledge and skill in developing interpersonal relationships, maintaining working relations, planning, organizing, reprioritizing work to meet changing deadlines, developing and conducting training of operating systems, associated devices and the interoperability of systems sufficient to install, upgrade, troubleshoot, test, and maintain those systems to optimize the functionality and performance of systems; and to ensure the availability, integrity, efficiency and reliability of servers. 2. Knowledge of operating systems, associated devices and the interoperability of systems sufficient to install, upgrade, troubleshoot, test, and maintain those systems to optimize the functionality and performance of systems; and to ensure the availability, integrity, efficiency and reliability of servers. 3. Knowledge of personnel management policies, practices, regulation, and procedures to adjust work operations to meet emergencies, change of program or production safety, and security requirements within available resources and with minimum sacrifices of quantity of quality of work; and establish program objectives or performance goal and access progress toward their achievement. 4. Knowledge of IT systems analysis and internet concepts, functions, techniques, and capabilities sufficient to evaluate new and emerging IT security methods and principles, the feasibility of proposed new systems in addition, applications software projects; and to design, test and maintain information systems and applications software and ensure successful integration with existing and anticipated infrastructure. 5. Skill and experience in planning scheduling the installation of new or modified hardware and operating systems and applications software; managing accounts, network rights, and access to systems and equipment; implementing cyber practices for ensuring the safeguarding of classified information in a complex technological environment. 6. Ability to ensure the rigorous application of information security/information assurance policies, principles and practices in the delivery of systems administrative services.
