The United States Space Force (USSF) at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Dayton, OH is searching for a Foreign Counterspace Optics and Lasers Team Lead to support NSIC (GG-0132-13). This position is covered by the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel Systems (DCIPS). For additional information about DCIPS, click here: https://dcips.defense.gov/ Description: The Foreign Space Situational Awareness Sensors Flight, part of the 2nd Intelligence Analysis Squadron within the National Space Intelligence Center, is actively seeking qualified experts to lead a team of technical intelligence/characteristics, capabilities and performance of foreign terrestrial optical and/or laser sensors that search the sky for satellites, chart their orbits, and determine the function and operational status of satellites. Ideal Candidate: The Ideal Candidate will be expected to serve as a national expert on foreign Counterspace Optics and/or Lasers Space Situational Awareness Sensors (SSA-S) intelligence within NSIC and the Intelligence Community, and provide technical leadership to flight analysts, advise management on project assignment and mentor analysts. Provide oversight of analysts performing independent research and analysis on multi-source intelligence information on foreign SSA-S systems and subsystems research, development, design, testing, operations, plans and objectives. This position requires advanced knowledge of the principles, concepts and methodology of foreign counterspace sensors gained through job experience (or equivalent educational experience and training) to permit independent determination of the characteristics of foreign space situational awareness sensors targeted against US space operations and the production of intelligence assessments. Must have knowledge of concepts and capabilities of foreign space situational awareness systems and subsystems. Requires skill in applying knowledge of foreign counterspace capabilities to impact US satellites and supporting infrastructure. Must have a firm knowledge of the organization, mission, and function of the US intelligence community. Candidate must understand the process to identify intelligence gaps and plan multi-source information-gathering strategies to substantiate new, accurate, and tailored counterspace intelligence assessments of space situational awareness systems and subsystems. Must have effective writing and oral communication skills to prepare finished intelligence reports and present briefings. A bachelor's degree, coursework, or professional training in strategic intelligence, space studies, physics, mathematics, or engineering studies is highly desired. Key Skills and Abilities: 1. Knowledge of the national intelligence community. Joint. DoD structure. originations. and mission/functions. interrelationship and operation. 4. Knowledge and skill in the analysis of worldwide counterspace. application of counterspace space Object surveillance and identification elements. their design. mission and Operation. 5. Skill in conducting unbiased complex research. identifying appropriate data source systems and producing collection requirement assessments that answer specific tasks to link and leverage agency capabilities in support of consumers. customers. and clients, 6. Skill in communicating effectively with others. both orally and in writing. in working out solutions to problems or questions related to the work. writing clear and concise intelligence products. and delivering written and au verbal presentations to senior level audiences decision-making purposes.
