We are seeking a high-performing sales executive to join our Institutional Client Group, Payments, Merchant & Institutional team as a Vice President, Merchant Sales Executive focused on the Technology, Media & Telecommunications (TMT) sectors. This role is responsible for originating and expanding strategic merchant services relationships while serving as a trusted advisor to clients operating within some of the most dynamic and innovative industries in the economy.Ā
Position OverviewĀ
The Vice President, Merchant Sales Executive ā (TMT) is a senior individual contributor responsible for originating, developing, and closing strategic merchant acquiring and payment solutions opportunities across the Technology, Media & Telecommunications ecosystems, in close collaboration with other Payments partners across Treasury and Commercial Card as well as Bankers/Relationship Managers in a āteam the dealā model.Ā

This role combines business development, payments expertise, and industry specialization to help clients optimize how they accept, manage, and monetize payments.Ā
Business Development & Revenue GrowthĀ
Develop and execute a targeted business development strategy focused on TMT clients.Ā
Build and maintain a robust pipeline of new business opportunities.Ā
Originate and close merchant acquiring, integrated payments, and value-added services opportunities.Ā
Lead complex consultative sales cycles from prospecting through implementation.Ā
Consistently achieve or exceed individual sales and revenue objectives.Ā
Industry Expertise & Client AdvisoryĀ
Serve as a merchant payments subject matter expert for the TMT vertical.Ā
Advise clients on embedded payments, subscription billing, marketplaces, omnichannel commerce, payment orchestration, digital wallets, cross-border commerce, and fraud prevention.Ā
Deliver strategic insights that improve payment performance and customer experience.Ā
Strategic Relationship ManagementĀ
Develop trusted relationships with executive stakeholders and key decision-makers;Ā identify and engage with prospective clientās various buying centers.Ā
Collaborate with Corporate Banking, Treasury Management, Product, Risk, Pricing, Legal, Implementation and Client Management partners.Ā
Identify opportunities to deepen client relationships and expand wallet share.Ā
Basic QualificationsĀ
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, MBA preferred.Ā
8+ years of experience in merchant acquiring, merchant services, payments, fintech, treasury management, or related financial services sales.Ā
Demonstrated success originating and closing complex business development opportunities.Ā
Proven track record of success guiding the clientās and internal stakeholder teams ā collaborating and influencing expertise.Ā
Strong business and financial acumen, consultative selling, negotiation, presentation and communication skills.Ā
Ability to travel for client meetings. Estimated to be between 40%-50% annually.
Preferred QualificationsĀ
Deep knowledge of merchant acquiring, payment acceptance, ecommerce, integrated payments and digital commerce.Ā
Experience serving Software, SaaS, FinTech, Telecommunications, Digital Media, Marketplaces, Cloud Technology, Gaming, or ISV clients.Ā Ā
Recognized expertise within the TMT ecosystem and ability to engage clients on digital commerce, embedded payments, AI-enabled customer experiences and emerging monetization strategies.Ā
This position also requiresĀ 10 or more hours of driving per week conducting business meetings with bank partners and clients

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $169,380.00 - 207,020.00U.S. Bank will consider qualified applicants with arrest or conviction records for employment.
