Summary
This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.
Duties
Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional Duties include but not limited to: Develops and implements the Domestic Violence/Intimate Partner Violence Assistance Program specific to his/her area of assignment and ensures compliance and collaboration with local facility and the VA Central Office Domestic Violence/Intimate Partner Violence Assistance Program initiatives. Administers information and analytical systems to evaluate and enhance the quality of service provided to Veterans, families, Caregivers and VA employees impacted by intimate partner violence. Develops and implements information systems to track service activities including visits, referrals, demographics, equipment utilization and Veteran satisfaction. Develops implements and evaluates clinical guidelines and protocols to establish appropriate utilization of services. Participates in direct Veteran, family, Caregiver, and VA employee contacts to identify and assess risk, safety, supports and the development and application of directed clinical treatment interventions. Advises and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams throughout the medical center on intimate partner violence (IPV) issues. Creates educational tools, develops programs, and implements training focused on specific IPV needs/issues. Provides education and in-service training to VAMC employees, Veterans, families, and Caregivers. Develops and facilitates support groups (face-to-face or VANTS telephone line) and educational programs. Conducts Veteran, family, Caregiver and VA employee interventions to facilitate the identification of domestic violence/intimate partner violence, psychiatric illness, emotional distress, and social needs as treatment issues. Provides referrals to VA medical and mental health treatment and to other VA services including VA benefits, as well as community-based social services and other non-VA entitlement programs. Serves as the major consultant for information on negotiating the complex processes Veterans, their families, caregivers, and VA employees encounter when interacting with government and community agencies. Completes suicide risk screens C-SSRS, CSRE, and Safety Plans, completing and documenting assessments within the timelines and guidelines outlined in local policy and guidelines (i.e., VANTHCS Suicide Prevention Standard of Work) as required. Ensures that services provided are compliant with all regulations, policies, and procedures relevant to the population served and monitors medical center performance related to population served. Collaborates with the Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT), Mental Health and Geriatric Primary Care clinicians to provide Veteran and staff education on domestic violence/intimate partner violence. Develops effective and strong relationships with community resources to ensure continuity of care and to promote successful transitions of services. Coordinator has advanced skills in community partnership building and expertly represents Social Work Service. Performs a wide range of services and provides technical assistance to state, local, and private agencies, and universities. Technical assistance provided is based on monitoring activities and program reviews, and the development and analysis of information. Learn more Pay: Competitive salary and regular salary increases When setting pay, a higher step rate of the appropriate grade may be determined after consideration of higher or unique qualifications or special needs of the VA (Above Minimum Rate of the Grade). Paid Time Off: 37-50 days of annual paid time offer per year (13-26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year)Selected applicants may qualify for credit toward annual leave accrual, based on prior [work experience] or military service experience. Parental Leave: After 12 months of employment, up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave in connection with the birth, adoption, or foster care placement of a child. Child Care Subsidy: After 60 days of employment, full time employees with a total family income below $144,000 may be eligible for a childcare subsidy up to 25% of total eligible childcare costs for eligible children up to the monthly maximum of $416.66. Requirements

Education

Advanced practice level social workers must be licensed or certified by a state at the advanced practice level which includes an advanced generalist or clinical examination, unless they are grandfathered by the state in which they are licensed to practice at the advanced practice level (except for licenses issued in California, which administers its own clinical examination for advanced practice) and they must be able to provide supervision for licensure.
