The Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia (the Philadelphia Fed) is one of 12 regional Reserve Banks that, together with the Board of Governors in Washington, D.C., comprise the Federal Reserve System (System). Founded by Congress in 1913, the Federal Reserve System serves as the central bank of the United States. The Philadelphia Fed (3rd District) serves eastern and central Pennsylvania, southern New Jersey, and Delaware. Its mission is to formulate and implement monetary policy, supervise banks, bank holding companies, savings and loan holding companies, provide financial services to depository institutions and the federal government, and promote consumer protection and community development.The Philadelphia Fedās Research Department (Department) plays an important role within the System and has a long-standing reputation as a thought leader, innovator and influencer of monetary policy, informed by distinguished research, insights and analysis. The Department conducts research on a wide range of economic topics (macroeconomics, labor, finance, banking, and regional), produces analysis used in regional and national policy discussions, and conducts surveys to get timely pulse readings of the economy, including the Manufacturing Business Outlook Survey and the Survey of Professional Forecasters (which is the oldest quarterly survey of macroeconomic forecasts in the United States). It serves as a System leader in data analytics and governance and highāperformance computing. The Consumer Finance Institute (CFI), an innovative and unique cross-disciplinary team, sits within the Department portfolio and analyzes how people earn, spend, save, and invest, as well as how credit markets and payment systems affect the economy. Financial Statistics, which gathers and disseminates information from financial institutions, is also part of the Department portfolio.

The RealĀ Time DataĀ ResearchĀ CenterĀ is a source of knowledge andĀ expertiseĀ about real-time macroeconomic data, surveys of macroeconomic forecasts, and macroeconomic modeling.Ā Housed within the Philadelphia Fedās Research Department, the Center producesĀ macroeconometricĀ analyses and collects andĀ maintainsĀ a variety of data sets ofĀ value to macroeconomists and monetary policymakers. Our mission is to be the global source of economic research around real-time data, macroeconomic forecast surveys, and macroeconomic modeling,Ā providingĀ valuable insights to be drawn from that research for monetary policymaking. TheĀ Senior Vice President (SVP) & Director of the RealĀ Time DataĀ ResearchĀ CenterĀ leadsĀ the Centerās full portfolio of activities. This includesĀ macroeconomic surveys, data collection, forecasting,Ā workshops,Ā and conferences.Ā The SVPĀ setsĀ strategicĀ vision,Ā provides guidance and development toĀ the CenterāsĀ staff, ensuresĀ theĀ integrityĀ and visibility of its products, and strengthens partnerships with academic and central bank researchers.Ā As a memberĀ of the Research Departmentās Leadership Team,Ā the SVP will advance department initiativesĀ andĀ contribute to its positive culture.Ā Running aĀ divisionĀ withinĀ the Research Department,Ā the SVPĀ is central to advancing the mission of the Center, providing strong leadershipĀ as well asĀ developingĀ its talent.Ā Ā

To succeed in this role,Ā the ideal candidateĀ mustĀ demonstrateĀ exceptional executiveālevel leadership andĀ possessĀ aĀ strongĀ understanding ofĀ macroeconomic research, realātime data, and advanced econometric techniques.Ā They must be able to set and execute a vision for a complexĀ portfolio of real time data,Ā leveragingĀ advanced models; oversee highāvisibility macroeconomic surveys,Ā andĀ data collection efforts;Ā and ensure the accuracy, integrity, and relevance of the Centerās economic products. Success requires strong analytical judgment, the ability to guide sophisticatedĀ data-gathering and analysisĀ efforts, and the capacity to communicate insights clearly to seniorĀ leaders,Ā policymakersĀ and external stakeholders. The candidate must build effective relationships,Ā collaborate with fellow leaders,Ā promote the Centerās work internally and externally, and provide thoughtful guidanceĀ and coachingĀ to staff while managing evolving priorities and delivering results under tight deadlines.Ā Ā

The salary range for this position is: $249,500Ā - $383,900. Final salary and offer will beĀ determinedĀ by the applicant's background,Ā experienceĀ and skills, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.Ā Ā

Oversee macroeconomic surveys, realātimeādata collection,Ā andĀ forecasting activities, ensuring alignment with theĀ mission and needs of stakeholders.Ā Ā
Ensure the quality, integrity, and visibility of the Centerās products.Ā
DepartmentĀ ManagementĀ
ProvideĀ strategicĀ guidanceĀ to the CenterāsĀ management team,Ā evaluate performance, setĀ expectations,Ā cascadeĀ information, and ensureĀ clarity aroundĀ objectives.Ā Ā

Coordinate Center activities with other sections of the Research DepartmentĀ and the Bank.Ā

Education and Experience:Ā
PhDĀ inĀ economics,Ā finance, orĀ related field.Ā Ā
