ERDCWERX - DEFENSEWERX (DWX) is a neutral facilitator and trusted counselor, connecting a national network of individuals, businesses, educators, and government organizations to enable creative and integrated solutions for our DoD customers.Â
ERDCWERX offers internships to juniors and seniors in college with a variety of academic disciplines and backgrounds. Our goal is to provide a dynamic and innovative environment where our interns will learn and refine skills necessary for future careers.
ERDCWERX does not provide a stipend for intern housing. Interns are responsible for lodging during their internship. Resumes are generally only evaluated at three times during the year—February/March (for Summer), June/July (for Fall) and October/November (for Spring).
JOB SUMMARY:Â
- Provides exposure to an innovative environment, mentor relationships, and documented work experienceÂ
- Expands participant familiarity with ERDCWERX and US Army ERDCÂ
- Offers professional development opportunities to strengthen skills, build resume, and explore career optionsÂ
- Supports fulfillment of college/university internship requirementsÂ
- Accommodates work at ERDCWERX between 9:00am and 4:00pm Monday through ThursdayÂ
- Requires a minimum of 10 hours and a maximum of 20 hours per weekÂ
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Â
- Collaborate with ERDCWERX teams to develop and implement marketing, communication, and event plans that support ERDC technology transfer and transitionÂ
- Contribute to the planning, design, and execution of ERDCWERX promotional initiativesÂ
- Support events team coordination and execution of on-site and virtual events including scheduling, facility readiness (set-up, breakdown), guest interactionÂ
- Assist in promoting and delivering workforce development activities and educational opportunities for ERDCÂ
- Support special projects as needed and other duties as assignedÂ

QUALIFICATIONS:Â
- Student of Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, or similar subjects at an accredited institutionÂ
- Current GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Strong technical, organizational, written, and verbal communication skillsÂ
- A high level of professionalism, integrity, dependability, enthusiasm, and confidentialityÂ
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)Experience in some or all of the following: professional social media, web design, photography, video production, business writing, and graphic designÂ
OTHER KEY REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to pass a background check
- Ability to successfully obtain and maintain a security clearance or successfully obtain and maintain ITAR license
- Must not have any conflicts of interest affecting DWX or its partners
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Positive attitude and great work ethic
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and drive results through collaboration
- Desire to serve, mentor, guide, and develop others and promote DWX core values and a positive working environment
- Possess a genuine passion for advancing the DWX mission and creating a sustainable and thriving organization
