Duties

Monitor and initiate the destruction and/or the rejection of security credentials; reports discrepancies and identifies failed production materials and customer concerns to Lead. Verify quality of secure credentials using sampling inspection techniques; monitor quality of the product, looking for defects and implements more intensive product inspections. Receive and record samples of returned secure credentials suspected to be defective. Record findings on approved forms and enter information in the appropriate electronic databases. Receive, monitor, and record manufacturing floor waste from Federal agencies for inspection. Interpret and apply product specifications, technical data, regulations, and other guideline materials to interpret and classify secure credential defects etc.

Qualifications and evaluation

Education

Substitution of education in lieu of specialized experience may be used for this grade level. Are you using your education to qualify? Background Investigation: To ensure the accomplishment of its mission, the GPO requires every employee to be reliable and trustworthy; this position requires a Secret clearance. To meet those standards, all selected applicants must undergo and successfully completed a background investigation for a Secret clearance. This review could include financial issues such as delinquency in the payment of debts, child support and/or tax obligations, as well as certain criminal offenses and illegal use or possession of drugs; this security process may take between 6 weeks to 12 months. GPO will conduct an interim security clearance, pending the completion of the full investigative requirements for the final Secret clearance. The interim security clearance will be granted based on the favorable completion of preliminary checks that are accomplished as part of the security clearance process. The Agency may rescind the tentative offer if the candidate is unable to obtain an interim clearance. The selectee will work on shift 1 and shift 3. Shift 1: 7:00 am - 5:30 pm, Monday- Thursday, 4-10 hours days Shift 3: 9:00 pm- 7:30 am, Monday- Thursday, 4-10 hours days Additional vacancies may be filled by this announcement. The selectee will be required to work overtime, shift, weekend, and/or holiday work.
