Summary

In this position you will serve as a Financial Analyst responsible for performing a variety of critical analytical duties associated with the planning, oversight, monitoring, and evaluation of the expenditure of funds related to the procurement of commodities used in assigned food nutrition assistance programs.

Duties

The duties described are for the full-performance level. At developmental grade levels, assignments will be of more limited scope, performed with less independence and limited complexity. The duties may include, but are not limited to: Tracks and maintains detailed records of purchase activities for assigned programs. Identifies and adjusts discrepancies in advances, expenditures, and commitments to verify that recorded funds committed and expended do not exceed funds authorized and advanced. Identifies the need for and develops training activities for Agency commodity purchase program staff on the full range of financial-related activities. Analyzes AMS, FNS, and FAS reports, defining discrepancies due to contract modifications, adjustments, and invalid commitments or expenditures. Reviews and analyzes accounting information to ensure accuracy, consistency of information, validity of balances, currency of entries, and reasonableness of data. Developing and maintaining Agency-level and Program-level reporting for a variety of agreements, such as cooperative agreements, grants, and inter-agency agreements.
