Learn more about CBP's mission, core values and careers at https://www.cbp.gov/about This supervisory mission support position allows you to use your knowledge and experience supervising a team that plans and carries out a wide variety of mission support, budgetary, and administrative research, and program-planning activities related to the missions and functions of the Finance Branch within the Mission Readiness Operations Division. This position starts at a salary of $117,402.00 (GS-13, Step 1) to $152,625.00 (GS-13, Step 10). As a Supervisory Mission Support Specialist (Finance), you will perform significant review and analysis of budget, management, training, logistics, procurement, and other areas of mission support resources. Typical work assignments will include: Supervising a team that is responsible for all aspects of the formulation, development, execution phase of the overall aspects of the organization's budget. Managing the Travel Card program by serving as the Certifier or Reviewer to fund and/or approve travel authorizations and vouchers. Performing ongoing mentoring, training and guidance to peers, colleagues, employees and supervisors. Preparing, reviewing, and reconciling budget reports and expenditures. Forecasting and allocating organizational budgetary needs, including providing guidance, assistance, and recommendations to management.

This position requires a 90-minute timed General Supervisor Test Battery consisting of two parts: 1) Managerial Writing Skills; 2) Critical Thinking Skills. The General Supervisor Test Battery will be used to assess the following Supervisory competencies: Written Communication Decision Making Problem Solving Reasoning Your final rating will be determined by your cumulative score on the General Supervisor Test Battery. Supervisory Probationary Period: You may be required to serve an 18-month probationary period upon appointment. Leadership Training: All newly appointed first-time CBP Supervisors are required to complete mandatory training. The training will be scheduled by the Office of Training and Development within the first 90 days of appointment. The duration of the training will include (SLT) 3 weeks of in residence training in Harpers Ferry, WV. Note: This training may be waived if previously completed.
