Our client is seeking a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) to prepare and review tax returns, support financial reporting, conduct tax planning, and provide advisory services to individual and business clients. This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple engagements while maintaining excellent client relationships.

Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8AM–5PM

Responsibilities:
Tax Services
- Conduct tax research and analyze complex tax issues.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations.
- Develop tax planning strategies to minimize liabilities and optimize savings.
- Respond to IRS and state tax notices and assist clients during audits or examinations.
- Provide guidance on tax implications related to business decisions and financial planning.
- Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals and business entities, including partnerships, S corporations, C corporations, trusts, estates, and nonprofits.
Accounting & Financial Reporting
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Prepare and review financial statements and supporting schedules.
- Analyze financial data and provide actionable recommendations to clients.
- Assist clients with bookkeeping, general ledger maintenance, and account reconciliations.
- Prepare compiled and reviewed financial statements in accordance with professional standards.
Client Advisory Services
- Serve as a trusted advisor to individuals and business owners.
- Meet with clients regularly to discuss tax strategies and financial results.
- Identify opportunities to improve financial performance and operational efficiency.
- Provide guidance on entity selection, business growth, succession planning, and cash flow management.
Professional Responsibilities
- Mentor junior staff and support workflow management.
- Engage in business development and community involvement as needed.
- Maintain compliance with professional standards and regulatory requirements.
- Stay current on evolving tax laws, accounting regulations, and industry trends.
- Participate in quality control procedures and contribute to continuous improvement.
Qualifications (Must-Haves)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license.
- Minimum 3+ years of public accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state tax regulations.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and client engagements.
- Proficiency with accounting, tax, and financial reporting software.
- Experience preparing and reviewing individual and business tax returns.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience supervising or mentoring staff.
- 5+ years of public accounting experience.
- Experience with tax planning and consulting services.
- Familiarity with QuickBooks and cloud-based accounting platforms.
- Knowledge of small business and closely held company accounting.
