Senior Litigation Paralegal/Legal Assistant – Personal Injury | Edison, NJ

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Legal Assistant/Paralegal to provide direct support to a senior attorney within the firm. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented legal professional who thrives in a fast-paced litigation environment and is comfortable managing multiple priorities simultaneously.

The successful candidate will bring strong litigation support experience, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to effectively interact with clients, courts, and external parties while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.

Please Note: Preference will be given to candidates residing within a 30-45 minute reasonable commuting distance of the office

Responsibilities:

• Provide administrative and legal support to a senior attorney.
• Schedule depositions, hearings, meetings, and client appointments.
• Assist with trial preparation and ongoing case management activities.
• Manage calendars, court deadlines, appointments, and case schedules.
• Organize and maintain case files, litigation records, and supporting documentation.
• Maintain accurate records and support case progression from inception through resolution.
• Coordinate court filings and ensure compliance with applicable deadlines and procedural requirements.
• Draft, prepare, and revise legal correspondence, pleadings, discovery responses, and other litigation documents.
• Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, courts, insurance carriers, medical providers, and other stakeholders.

Qualifications (Must-Haves)

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while managing competing priorities.
• Experience supporting attorneys in an active litigation environment.
• Excellent organizational, time-management, and multitasking abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and legal case management software.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience as a Legal Assistant, Litigation Assistant, or Paralegal.
• Strong understanding of legal terminology, court procedures, and litigation document preparation.

• Medical malpractice experience.
• Personal injury litigation experience.
• Experience coordinating discovery, depositions, and trial preparation.
• Experience managing medical records and litigation-related documentation.
