S&ME is seeking an Entry-Level Construction Materials Engineering Technician to join our Construction Services team in Atlanta, Georgia.

About The Role:
As an Entry-Level Construction Materials Engineering Technician, you'll help verify that construction materials and workmanship meet project requirements. From day one, you'll work alongside experienced professionals, gaining hands-on experience through field testing, inspections, and construction observation while building technical skills that serve as the foundation for a long-term career.
- Learn Construction Materials Testing: Begin with concrete sampling and testing, then expand into soils, asphalt, and masonry as you grow.
- Earn While You Learn: Receive paid, on-the-job training and support for ACI and ICC certifications.
- Preform Testing & Documentation: Perform field and lab tests, maintain equipment, and ensure accurate, complete reporting.
- Support Inspections: Conduct inspections per IBC codes, document findings, and manage data using Metafield®.
- Outdoor Work Environment: Enjoy working outside year-round in changing conditions, with new sites and crews keeping things fresh.
Schedule & Travel:
Construction projects don't always follow a standard schedule. Weekly work hours may vary based on project demands and weather conditions and can include early mornings, evenings, weekends, occasional holidays, and overtime opportunities paid at time-and-a-half. Some travel may be required to support projects throughout Georgia.

About You:
- You have a High School diploma/GED
- You have a strong work ethic and a team mindset
- You have strong attention to detail and effective communication skills in English, including speaking, reading, and writing
- You have basic math skills with an understanding of weight, volume, pressure, and units of measure
- You understand a fluctuating weekly schedule and occasional travel
- You have a valid U.S. driver's license, with an acceptable driving record
- You can safely operate a company-assigned vehicle, including trucks and SUVs
- You are willing to complete a background check, driving record check, and drug screen upon offer of employment
You Are Willing and Able to:
Perform the physical demands of the position with the use of company-provided Personal Protective Equipment such as:
- Working the majority of the time outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Walking over rough, uneven terrain and standing for potentially up to 12 hours a day
- Routinely lifting and carrying 40-50lbs (field/laboratory samples and equipment)
- Maneuvering field equipment safely, such as a loaded wheelbarrow, on uneven ground around active construction sites
