Senior Principal, Digital Product Design, Nike Direct Experience

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for a Senior Principal designer to help define the look, feel, and strategic vision of Nike’s digital experiences and platforms. 

You live and breathe sport. You’re the architect of entire product ecosystems and have created and launched industry-leading products. As the most senior designer on the team, you’ve developed expert-level design craft and lead multiple dimensions of experience definition.

You’re a strong generative and visionary designer with exceptional interaction design skills. You not only lead the largest and most complex projects, you push the organization to seek out new opportunities that will have a positive impact on the business. You partner with senior leaders and VPs across the company to create a vision for what a product should be, and then guide and shape the design from beginning to end as it becomes a reality.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

As a Senior Principal Designer, you will use your design, technology, and creative leadership expertise to craft world-class digital experiences for our consumers, elevate the Nike brand, and create distinction in the marketplace.

•   Define and validate future-state product experiences through rapid exploration, prototyping, and strategic design thinking that balances consumer, business, and technical needs

•   Partner across Product, Engineering, Research, and Design to inspire teams, shape strategy, align stakeholders, and communicate compelling experience concepts that influence executive decision-making

•   Lead category-defining initiatives that drive innovation and measurable business impact, shape industry conversations, and establish Nike as a leader in digital experience design

•   Elevate design excellence by mentoring talent, championing exceptional craft, and raising the quality and impact of work across the organization

•   Shape product and market strategy through cross-functional leadership, strategic influence, and alignment around key business priorities

•   Develop a deep understanding of brand, business, sport, culture, and consumer needs to create differentiated experiences that drive results

•   Champion an inclusive, collaborative, and high-performing design culture by leading initiatives that strengthen community, capability, and organizational impact

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

You’ll be part of the Nike Direct Digital Product Design team, responsible for Nike.com, Nike App, SNKRS, and Nike Stores across the globe. You’ll report to the Senior Design Director and serve on the Nike Direct Design Leadership team—shaping distinct digital experiences that elevate Nike Digital, Nike Stores, and the Marketplace for our consumers. You’ll partner closely with our global and geo-led Nike Direct business teams—translating their strategies into shipped experiences for our consumers. You’ll collaborate with Product, Engineering, Data Science, Marketing, Brand Creative, and our Store Athletes to deliver industry-defining, innovative work that inspires our customers and creates deeper engagement with our digital platforms and experiences.

WHAT YOU BRING

•   Bachelor’s degree in business or design. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience and training.

•   10+ years of digital design or relevant experience in the design industry, with a portfolio showcasing innovative and complex digital experience

•   Proven experience shaping consumer-facing digital products that drive adoption, engagement, personalization, conversion, and long-term loyalty

•   Recognized leader whose expertise, entrepreneurial spirit, vision, and business acumen influence strategy across teams, functions, and executive stakeholders

•   Strategic thinker who connects consumer needs, business priorities, and market opportunities to architect impactful digital experiences

•   Deep expertise in information architecture, interaction design, and visual design, with a proven ability to craft exceptional end-to-end digital experiences

•   Demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity, leverage data and research, and identify opportunities that drive consumer and business impact

•   Demonstrated ownership and leadership in driving complex, high-impact initiatives that unlock new opportunities and create meaningful consumer and business value through innovation

•   Expertise in modern design, prototyping, and AI-powered tools such as Figma, Cursor, and Claude—with the ability to rapidly move from concepts to code.

•   Exceptional communicator and storyteller who distills complex ideas into compelling narratives, builds alignment, influences strategic decisions, and inspires action across teams and leadership

•   Demonstrated excellence in visual, motion, and narrative design—with exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-craft and high-quality digital experiences

•   Operates with a high degree of autonomy, building strong cross-functional partnerships and navigating complexity to drive alignment, decisions, and outcomes

•   Familiarity with Nike.com, Nike App, SNKRS and other sport, fashion, social, and content/commerce platforms
