Duties
As a General Maintenance and Operations Supervisor (Utilities), you will perform the following duties: Plans, directs, and supervises directly or through multiple levels of subordinate supervisors multidisciplinary shop staff, ensuring that operation, maintenance, and repairs of all systems are performed correctly and efficiently. Controls and manages all electrical, plumbing, utility systems repairs/operations; and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) maintenance, repair, and upgrade activities. Assigns work, explaining requirements and setting deadlines. Strategic planning, conflict resolution, performance evaluation, and development of team members. Communicates and collaborates across all levels of the organization. Promotes innovation and continuous improvement by encouraging team input and adapting processes to enhance efficiency. Provides guidance and supervisory authority over major work functions, assisting subordinate supervisors and employees in applying technical specifications. Identifies and addresses training and development needs to enhance team capabilities, utilizing individual development plans and arranging for necessary training sessions. This Job Opportunity Announcement may be used to fill other General Maintenance and Operations Supervisor (Utilities) WS-4701-14 FPL WS-14 positions within the Department of Commerce in the same geographical location or local commuting area with the same qualifications and specialized experience.
Requirements
You must be a U.S. citizen to apply for this position. You must successfully pass a background investigation. Qualifications and evaluation
