Quality Technician - Facilities & Pipeline Construction

B.H. Inc. is hiring a full-time Quality Technician to support our field operations on the MPLX Argo Condensate project in Midland, TX. • $24.00 – $32.00 per hour (depending on experience) plus Per Diem.
• Dedicated full-time schedule featuring six 10-hour days (Monday – Saturday, ~60 hours/week).

A DAY IN THE LIFE AS A QUALITY TECHNICIAN

Your workday runs from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, kicking off in the field office with the morning safety tailgate. You will collaborate closely with the Superintendent to identify the day's specific scope-whether focused on fit-up, field painting and coating, hydrostatic testing, or active pipeline operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Inspect and document incoming materials against Mill Test Reports. Inspect welders' welds, verify welder credentials, monitor pre-heat temperatures, and capture heat numbers on the master weld map.
• Conduct holiday spark testing on field coatings to detect pinholes. Monitor chart recorders and deadweight testers during hydrostatic pressure tests.
• Document field non-conformances, update master weld logs, and finalize daily inspection reports to build the project's turnover package.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

• VT (Visual Testing) certification preferred.
• Hands-on experience with Bluebeam and basic computer skills.
• Background or familiarity with pipeline and facilities quality testing, material reports, and hydrostatic testing procedures.
• Willingness to accommodate moderate travel and work a 60-hour weekly schedule.
• Self-driven professional with strong attention to detail, proactive attitude, and an uncompromised commitment to safety.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A Site Quality Manager

As a Site Quality Manager, your ultimate responsibility is the overall quality and compliance of the job. To do this, you develop and enforce the project's quality control plan, conduct inspections, and verify that all electrical and mechanical work meets contractual specifications, codes, and industry standards. You identify and document non-conformances, drive corrective actions, and manage punch lists through closeout. Using your excellent customer service skills, you communicate with customers and project teams to resolve quality issues and evaluate alternative solutions. You plan, execute, and finalize quality processes according to contractual agreements and project schedules.

Your leadership skills assist you in coaching, mentoring, motivating, and supervising subcontractors and field teams on quality standards. You enjoy the variety in your work as the Site Quality Manager for B.H. Inc.
