Job Summary

The job of Paraprofessional - English Language Learner is done for the purpose/s of providing support to the instructional program with specific responsibility for assisting students whose primary language is not English across the general population; administering tests; and serving as a resource to other school personnel requiring assistance with non-English speaking persons. This job reports to Assistant Principal.

Requirements / Qualifications

If you are NOT currently or never have been a Paraprofessional for VUSD, you must include proof of one of the following:

Two years of college (48 units) 

A. A. degree (or higher) 

Pass a local assessment of knowledge and skills in assisting in instruction. You will also need to provide proof of passing the district Translator test.

• Test Results/Materials (Translator Exam) 

• Tuberculosis Clearance

• Strength and Agility Test

• Criminal Background Clearance

Probation Period: 6 months
