JOB DESCRIPTION:

Position Overview:

The Sr. Manager FP&A provides leadership oversight, coordination and planning, in order to execute financial planning processes, including priority setting and ensuring the timeliness, accuracy and integrity of financial information while also performing original work related to Division and Corporate templates/schedules.

This role is also responsible for delivering analytics and business support to enable informed decision making by executive staff as well as presentation worthy performance summaries to be shared with senior leaders across the Corporation.

This role is based in Madison, WI.

Essential Duties:

• Maintain controls to ensure the integrity of assets and compliance with applicable policies, procedures and guidelines; interpret financial results, evaluate risks of alternatives, recommend actions and develop strategies to address various scenarios.

• Manage month-end activities to ensure availability of timely, well-presented, quality P&L, sales results, etc.

• Prepare financial reports (such as Plans, LBE's and long range projections) that meet the timing and quality of presentation requirements, facilitating management review and decision making while ensuring integrity of data and compliance with GAAP as well as Abbott's operating policies.

• Develop flexible, comprehensive tools to support program proposals and tracking focused on ROI and fully-burdened margin profitability as well as developing system solutions and process improvements that meet the needs of the financial planning and/or reporting requirements.

• Develop and maintain a financial organization capable of meeting Division and Corporate requirements, including but not limited to mobilizing staff to work in teams, facilitate teamwork to increase quality and productivity, assume direct responsibility for results, empower others while maintaining high performance standards; responsible for staff development, mentoring, performance management, engagement and recognition, administrative duties, etc;

• Establish and maintain and effective and efficient planning process for the division and operational functions  being supported, including coordination of a planning calendar with key dates and deliverables.

This position is accountable for the following:

3. demonstrating continual improvement in financial planning and/or reporting

4. creating a work environment that supports cross-functional team effectiveness

5. management and development of reporting staff; mentor others as appropriate

• Demonstrated appropriate level of leadership experience to lead and influence.

Requires high levels of competence, confidence and credibility.

Strategic and tactical decisions will be made based upon data the individual provides and/or presents in a management or informal setting. Consequences of erroneous decisions or recommendations would normally include critical delays and modifications to projects or operations with substantial expenditure of time, human resources and funds and may jeopardize future business activity.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field;  Master’s  preferred 
  • Minimum 8 years of FP&A experience.
  • Experience to develop the competence required to meet the skills and responsibilities of the position.

The base pay for this position is

$129,300.00 – $258,700.00

In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
