POSITION SUMMARY:Ā Ā 

AĀ Market ExecutiveĀ directly manages aĀ market-level branch andĀ additionalĀ branches within theĀ Market. TheĀ Market Executive’sĀ primary focus is to drive revenue, increase profitability, and manage risk within their branch and assigned offices within theĀ market. Job functions also includeĀ maintainingĀ aĀ superior and consistent level of client service, developing cohesive teams, providing consistent leadership, and assuming accountability for the results of the entireĀ market. In addition, a large emphasis will be placed on the recruitment and retention ofĀ Financial Advisors.Ā Market ExecutivesĀ mustĀ be responsible forĀ fiscal management, personnel management and morale, business ethics and practices, and compliance with all Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations. This is a non-producing role.Ā Ā

Product/Business Knowledge:Ā Ā 

  • Has a thorough understanding of the Firm’s products and those of its strategicĀ partners;Ā uses this knowledge to provide resources and directionĀ in order toĀ help drive sales.Ā Ā 

  • Possesses a strong understanding of the firm’s resources; able to direct the sales force to the right resources in an efficientĀ manner asĀ to make the sales process more efficient.Ā Ā 

  • Effectively applies product/business knowledge to recruiting efforts; able to ā€œtranslateā€ competitorĀ offerings into Morgan Stanley Wealth ManagementĀ products, andĀ understand and explain how a recruit will be able to continue to help meet their clients’ needs.Ā Ā

Sales/Marketing:Ā Ā 

  • Seeks opportunities to grow business and drive sales by capitalizing on firmĀ initiatives; focuses on building strong relationships with corporate departments and strategic partners to achieve the marketing efforts of the Branch.Ā Ā 

  • Drives corporate marketing initiatives to help increase market share inĀ High Net WorthĀ households.Ā Ā

  • Builds an effective team across theĀ marketĀ by constantly communicating relevant information onĀ a timelyĀ basis and conducting regular meetings.Ā Ā 

  • Leads andĀ participatesĀ inĀ MarketĀ and Region initiatives, including sales, hiring, recruitment,Ā diversity, and community outreach.Ā Ā 

  • Responsible for growing theirĀ marketĀ through hiring, lateralĀ recruitingĀ and training.Ā Ā

  • Leads by example byĀ maintainingĀ a positive morale,Ā a track recordĀ of personal growth or reputation for growth, has ethical business practices, andĀ demonstratesĀ a commitment to diversity and respect for others.Ā 

  • Leads proactively byĀ identifyingĀ trends, potential areas of growth and weakness and addressing these areasĀ in order toĀ positively position the Region within the geographic market.Ā Ā 

  • LeadsĀ Market’s effortsĀ ofĀ Sales andĀ results.Ā Ā 

  • IdentifiesĀ key talent in theĀ market, positionsĀ and develops that talent, and encourages those individuals toĀ participateĀ in the leadership of theĀ MarketĀ and Region.Ā Ā 

  • Leverages the resources of the Firm to achieve the highest level of success.Ā Ā 

  • Acts as a coach and mentor for Financial AdvisorsĀ in orderĀ toĀ help drive results.Ā 

Accountability:Ā Ā 

  • Responsible for theĀ market’s sales performance and financial performance.Ā Ā 

  • Responsible for regulatory, legal and compliance issuesĀ including:Ā Risk management for their Branch andĀ marketĀ in regards toĀ monitoringĀ sales, human resources, and legal and regulatory practices.Ā Ā 

  • Responsible forĀ establishingĀ a core compliance model in offices under supervision.Ā Ā 

  • Responsible for following supervisory procedures as outlined in the Branch Manager’s Supervisory Manual.Ā Ā 

  • Responsible for delegating supervisory review/duties to theĀ Risk Officer.Ā Ā 

  • Responsible for the creation of an Annual Supervisory Plan.Ā Ā 

  • Responsible for effectively communicating the status of performance and issues to the Regional Director.Ā Ā 

Ā Ā 

Education and/or Experience:Ā Ā 

  • 5 or more years of related experience and/or training includingĀ demonstratedĀ success managing aĀ marketĀ or a large branch office, or equivalent.Ā Ā 

Ā Ā 

Licenses and Registrations:Ā Ā 

  • Active Series 7, 8 (or 9 and 10), 66 (or 63 and 65) andĀ 3 registrations (Series 31 acceptable if branch conducts managed futures businessĀ only)Ā Ā 

  • Other licenses asĀ requiredĀ for role or by managementĀ Ā

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $290,000 and $300,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
