Summary

About the Position: The incumbent of this position will serve as the field Team Leader involved with the real time acquisition of engineering, scientific, environmental, topographic, geodetic, oceanographic, and hydrographic survey data. This is a developmental position with a full performance level of the GS-10.

Duties

Serve as the Team Leader, leading a project delivery team for hydrographic, topographic, geodetic and other survey projects, providing daily work assignments to team members, and resolving safety matters. Plan, schedule, and direct the various phases of the survey such as establishment of horizontal and vertical control and tide gages, preparation and calibration of survey systems, and collection and analysis of data. Monitor progress and output of acquired data and make continuous cross checks with past physical and environmental data to ensure quality control. Analyze collected data, such as Before Dredge, After Dredge, Engineering, and similar, for adequacy based on the scope of the project. Mentor and provide on-the-job training to new employees in accordance to established procedures. Independently create technical reports explaining objectives and results.
