What you’ll do in the role:

Morgan Stanley Bank, N.A. is seeking an Associate, Risk/Policy Management in New York, New York to develop Power BI dashboards. Responsible for the design, development, and production of recurring management reporting. Participate in planning, coordinating and performing all activities related to design, development and implementation of organizational reporting and analytics. Convert business requirements into technical specifications and perform testing. Determine the timeline to accomplish tasks. Collaborate with the Data Control, Credit Risk Agile IT squads and Credit Officers to identify requirements to be onboarded in system. Participate in data curation activities.  Telecommuting permitted up to 2 days per week.

What you’ll bring to the role:

-Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related field

-Requires three (3) years of experience in the position offered or three (3) years as a Software Engineer, Data Scientist, or a related role

- Requires three (3) years of experience with the following skills:

• Power BI software development, including data modeling and semantic layer implementation;
• Database and business intelligence management;
• Writing complex SQL queries using CTEs, subqueries, window functions, and aggregations;
• Performing complex joins and creating views to manipulate large datasets;
• Optimizing SQL queries through indexing and analysis to reduce latency;
• Writing and optimizing DAX calculations including query performance tuning in Power BI;
• Developing complex data transformation logic using the M formula language in Power Query;
• Creating dashboards based on business requirements using Power BI, with the ability to drill down data and visualize it with charts, reports, or dashboards;
• Maximizing query folding and ensuring efficient data transformations to minimize memory overhead and improve refresh speed;
• Designing and implementing incremental refresh policies for efficient handling of billion-row datasets;
• Performing granular partition processing using SQL Server Management Studio connected to Power BI workspaces;
• Designing and implementing dynamic parameters in Power Query, along with error handling and data profiling;
• Maintaining and supporting existing dashboards;
• Conducting deep dive model diagnostics using Vertipaq Analyzer to identify high cardinality columns;
• Implementing dynamic row-level security frameworks using DAX;
• Developing and deploying Power BI reports;
• Using MS Excel for data analysis and report generation using Power BI semantic models;
• Analytical scripting using Python libraries including Matplotlib or Seaborn; and
• JIRA.

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $125,000 and $140,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
