A Day in the Life
The Knowledge Center is a centralized function at Medtronic providing trusted internal information and external literature, research solutions, technical community news, and connection to subject matter experts. We make it easier to find the information you need, collaborate with colleagues across Medtronic, and access resources that support well-informed decisions. By helping teams learn from one another, save time, and avoid unnecessary work and spend, the Knowledge Center strengthens collaboration and continuous learning across the technical community, turning insight into action that advances our Mission. This job will be an onsite role at Operational Headquarters in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
As a member of the Knowledge Center team, the Technical Information Specialist helps ensure employees can easily access and use the information resources, digital content, and technology platforms that support research, innovation, and business decision-making. The specialist serves as a key resource for maintaining information systems, resolving access issues, supporting information resource operations, answering client questions, and improving the employee experience across information platforms. This position works across the department and closely partners with program managers.

The Technical Information Specialist supports the systems, platforms, and information resources that enable employees to access and use research, literature, and knowledge assets. This role combines information systems administration, customer support, digital content management, and operational process improvement to ensure a reliable and efficient employee experience across information platforms.
Primary Responsibilities
- Administer and support library systems, digital content platforms, and information resource technologies.
- Troubleshoot system, authentication, and content access issues while coordinating resolution with internal technology teams and vendors.
- Maintain SharePoint sites, intranet content, and information resource platforms to support content accessibility and accuracy.
- Manage journals, databases, eBooks, standards, and other information resources, including metadata, holdings, and system records.
- Respond to employee inquiries and service requests related to information resources, systems, and platform access.
- Develop user documentation, process guides, and training materials that support effective use of information resources.
- Monitor service metrics and operational data to support reporting and continuous improvement activities.
- Support workflow enhancements, automation initiatives, system testing, and projects focused on improving information access and user experience.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and 1+ years of experience in information science, library and information science, information technology, business, or information services support.
- Experience supporting information systems, digital content platforms, content management systems, or business applications.
- Experience troubleshooting user access, authentication, or system-related issues.
- Experience managing multiple priorities with strong organizational skills.
- Experience communicating with customers, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Library and Information Science.
- Experience with SharePoint administration or content management systems.
- Experience supporting library, research, copyright, or information services.
- Experience with digital content platforms, authentication systems, subscription resources, or knowledge management tools.
- Experience with Microsoft Power Platform, artificial intelligence tools, reporting solutions, or workflow automation technologies.
For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
