Summary
You will serve as a Administrative Support Assistant (Seasonal) with the BLM California State Office This is a temporary position expected to last 1560 hours. The typical seasonal entry-on-duty period for BLM California State Office is October 2026 to July 2027, but can be variable during these months due to weather conditions, project needs, or funding. Anticipated Entry on Duty: October 2026
Duties
Some of the major duties you will perform include but are not limited to the following: Enter and/or validate time and attendance records in the automated payroll system. Prepare, edit, and finalize correspondence for office supervisors and managers. Disseminate correspondence to appropriate personnel and track and maintain records of it. Maintain the central filing system (official records, directives, BLM Manuals and Technical References, Departmamental manuals and directives, secretarial orders, etc.). Provide general information concerning office(s) operations to the public both orally and in writing. Contact may occur though telephone, email, and in person. Respond to inquiries directly or refer individualto the appropriate staff member.
Requirements
Must be a U.S. Citizen or National. Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication. Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service. Qualifications and evaluation
