U.S. Public Equity Solutions is responsible for the engagement, onboarding and day-to-day service management of corporate clients and their equity administration plan terms and associated service offerings. 

 

Financial Reporting Solutions - Senior Consulting Manager Role: 

The Financial Reporting Solutions - Senior Consulting Manager is part of the Financial Reporting Solutions Practice within the Morgan Stanley at Work organization.   The Financial Reporting Senior Consulting Manager does not provide accounting, tax or legal advice as part of the consulting services that his or her team provides. This position will report into the Practice Leader for Financial Reporting Solutions. 

The Financial Reporting Solutions - Senior Consulting Manager is a subject matter expert in equity compensation expensing and financial reporting.  In this role, you will serve as a dedicated resource to multiple clients, assisting them with utilizing Equity Edge Online (EEO) or Shareworks for their expensing and financial reporting needs.  Client’s needs and challenges vary; you will often interpret client's reporting and data requirements to determine how to best meet the desired expensing in EEO or Shareworks.  The Senior Consulting Manager may also need to troubleshoot and determine the root cause of a client’s equity expensing and reporting issue(s).  A large component of the role is customer service followed by training and transfer of EEO or Shareworks and equity knowledge to the client, as well as supporting internal partners. This role includes opportunities to present at conferences, client meetings, and deliver virtual presentations on equity compensation and Morgan Stanley at Work’s tools and services.  

The Financial Reporting Solutions - Senior Consulting Manager Responsibilities 

  • Provides a clear, compelling and articulate explanation of our financial reporting value proposition to prospective and/or existing clients 

  • Develops and maintains strong working relationships with key business decision makers 

  • Develops key industry contacts that will assist in building effective relationships and support the close of sales or strengthen existing client relationships 

  • Helps identify services to meet client needs, define methodologies and best practices to deliver those services, and participate in industry events as a subject matter expert 

  • Identifies and document FAQs and solutions for financial reporting topics and best practices 

  • Creates materials and conduct internal training to expand Shareworks and EEO financial reporting knowledge 

  • Assists with external documentation and training efforts to enhance client’s reporting experience 

  • Researches, reconciles and resolves reporting issues submitted by clients 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or business-related field is required, with a Master’s degree as a plus 

  • 7+ years of combined experience in public accounting, SEC reporting, FP&A and/or equity compensation 

  • Experience in customer service and/or a client-facing role with a strong aptitude for understanding and responding to client needs with innovative solutions based on knowledge of businesses, products, services and external factors (e.g., regulatory, economic, and industry trends) 

  • Effective in training and developing other team members in complex reporting solutions 

  • Proven technical, client engagement, and project leadership skills 

  • Keen focus on client satisfaction, striving to meet and exceed the expectations of clients while building strong relationships and developing guidelines to improve client interactions 

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task across multiple assignments 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in a variety of client settings, articulately answering client questions and requests  

  • Strong leadership skills, supporting other consultants by leading by example and creating an inclusive team environment  

  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority 

  • Ability to proactively identify potential risks and issues along with solutions, independently engaging resources to problem solve  

  • Displays a continuous improvement approach and encourages others to do the same 

  • Self-directed and results oriented by setting clear and realistic goals to address client needs and exceed service delivery expectations 

  • Strong technical understanding of equity compensation (ASC 718) accounting and reporting requirements  

  • Knowledgeable about equity-related accounting, tax, and legal concepts, both domestic and international in scope 

  • Strong teamwork skills with the ability to problem solve, learn quickly, share knowledge, and adapt to changing priorities 

  • Enthusiastic and creative individual who is comfortable with rapidly engaging in new client environments and seeking new and more effective methods to communicate with clients 

  • Knowledgeable on Shareworks, Equity Edge Online and/or other stock plan administration systems 

  • Experienced with complex share and expense reconciliations and analysis of differences 

  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% 

  • CPA preferred

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $100,000 to $140,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
