TSA SPP Airport Screening Operations Manager

About the Role

Culmen International is seeking experienced Airport Screening Operations Managers for anticipated TSA SPP Task Orders throughout the United States. 

Reporting to the Task Order Project Manager, the Operations Manager will lead day-to-day passenger and baggage screening operations, ensuring effective staffing, supervision, TSA compliance, passenger throughput, and operational performance. 

What You’ll Do in Your New Role

• Direct daily passenger checkpoint and checked-baggage screening operations.  

• Manage STSOs and other operational supervisors and maintain effective supervisory coverage across shifts.  

• Develop and adjust operational schedules based on passenger volumes, flight schedules, staffing availability, and screening requirements.  

• Monitor checkpoint wait times, throughput, staffing utilization, security effectiveness, and operational performance.  

• Coordinate with TSA/FSD personnel and airport stakeholders on daily operational requirements.  

• Implement new or revised TSA screening procedures and directives.  

• Identify operational risks, performance gaps, and workforce issues and implement corrective actions.  

• Support incident response, irregular operations, contingency staffing, and surge requirements.  

• Develop frontline supervisors and reinforce accountability, professionalism, and customer service.  

• Use operational data and performance metrics to drive continuous improvement.  

Required Qualifications

• Five or more years of progressively responsible aviation security, airport operations, security screening, or comparable operational management experience preferred.  

• Demonstrated experience supervising large, shift-based workforces.  

• Strong understanding of operational scheduling, workforce deployment, and performance management.  

• Experience operating in a regulated security environment.  

• Strong decision-making, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.  

• U.S. Citizen or U.S. National and ability to satisfy applicable TSA suitability/access requirements.  

• Ability to work onsite and support a 24/7 airport operation.  

Desired Qualifications

• Prior STSO, Transportation Security Manager, SPP Operations Manager, or comparable experience.  

• TSA SPP experience.  

• Experience with both passenger and checked-baggage screening.  

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.  

• Experience using operational data to improve throughput, staffing efficiency, and screening performance.
