A growing technology solutions firm has an immediate opening for a Systems Engineer to support its expanding engineering services business. This position is suited for a motivated individual who thrives in a collaborative environment where creative solutions are encouraged, technically challenging problems are the norm, and the focus is on applying new technologies to real-world problems. This is an on-site role based in Warminster, PA.
This Systems Engineer will support a small team developing multi-level security systems incorporating virtual environments and VPN technologies. The role includes supporting and sustaining existing products while contributing to the research and evaluation of new technologies and architectures for future system development and upgrades.
The ideal candidate brings a strong curiosity for emerging technologies and a genuine interest in staying current with advancements relevant to the product line.
Travel:
- Less than 10 percent, approximately 4 to 5 weeks per year
Position Responsibilities:
- Support the current product line, maintaining system security posture and troubleshooting issues as they arise
- Provide direct communication and support to stakeholders and system users
- Assist in the research and evaluation of new technologies to support next-generation product development
- Perform product design using engineering best practices
- Contribute to technical documentation, including user manuals, white papers, and presentations
- Develop a working knowledge of DoD and commercial security regulations
Minimum Security Clearance:
- Active Secret clearance required
- Top Secret clearance preferred
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities
- Self-driven with a proactive mindset
- Strong attention to detail and professionalism
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong technical writing capabilities
- Experience with computer hardware and software integration
- Experience with Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, Group Policy, Exchange, and IIS
- Exposure to areas such as natural language processing, computer vision, or reinforcement learning
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Understanding of network design and VPN technologies
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies
- Working knowledge of Linux fundamentals
- Experience with scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or PowerShell
- Understanding of troubleshooting methodologies and OSI model application
- Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices
- Experience with client server deployments
- Strong team-oriented mindset
- U.S. citizenship required
Additional Desired Qualifications:
- Interest in continued learning and professional development
- Experience with cross-domain solutions
- Familiarity with Linux security modules or security-enhanced Linux
- Experience with Splunk administration
- Experience with vulnerability scanning tools
- Background supporting DoD programs
Education and Training Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
- Willingness to obtain CompTIA Security+ within six months
Minimum Years of Experience:
- 3 to 5 years of relevant experience
