You'll join a multidisciplinary product team responsible for planning, conducting, documenting, and improving testing for systems, subsystems, hardware assemblies, support equipment, and associated technical documentation. Working directly with the Product Owner in a SAFe Agile environment, you'll translate requirements and user needs into measurable tests and evidence supporting engineering decisions and Government acceptance.
What you'll do:
- Develop test strategies, plans, procedures, cases, verification matrices, schedules, and acceptance criteria.
- Conduct developmental, integration, functional, regression, hardware, and system-level testing in laboratory, field, and operationally representative environments.
- Evaluate cables, assemblies, adapters, fixtures, and other fabricated hardware against approved drawings, specifications, workmanship standards, and functional requirements.
- Use test equipment and instrumentation to collect data, analyze results, and document findings.
- Identify and track failures, anomalies, and deficiencies; support root-cause analysis and verify corrective actions.
- Maintain traceability between requirements, acceptance criteria, test procedures, results, and corrective actions.
- Prepare technical reports, engineering analyses, verification documentation, and progress reports.
- Participate in engineering reviews, test readiness reviews, configuration-control activities, and Agile planning and delivery events.
- Collaborate with engineering, logistics, configuration management, cybersecurity, technicians, and Government stakeholders.
- Maintain configuration control of test articles and documentation, and support test asset accountability, shipping, receiving, and inventory activities.
Required qualifications:
- At least five years of experience in engineering test and evaluation, systems integration, verification and validation, hardware testing, systems engineering, or a related technical field.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, physical science, or a closely related technical discipline. A combination of relevant education, training, and progressively responsible technical experience demonstrating equivalent capability may also qualify.
- Experience developing or executing test procedures, collecting and analyzing test data, documenting results, and tracking deficiencies through resolution.
- Active Top Secret clearance and the ability to meet and maintain program access and training requirements.
Preferred experience:
- Navy, warfare center, defense acquisition, research and development, or comparable Federal technical programs.
- Testing electronic, electrical, mechanical, communications, software-enabled, or integrated hardware/software systems.
- SAFe Agile, integrated product teams, or DevSecOps environments.
- Requirements management, configuration management, product data management, defect tracking, and Agile workflow tools such as Jira.
- Interpreting technical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, system manuals, and engineering change documentation.
- Cable fabrication, assembly inspection, first-article inspection, functional testing, or production quality assurance.
- Relevant training or certifications in systems engineering, test and evaluation, Agile/SAFe, quality assurance, configuration management, or project management.
Travel and benefits:
Travel supports testing, engineering integration, hardware delivery and inspection, technical meetings, field activities, and program reviews. Potential destinations include Charleston, SC; Virginia Beach, VA; Wallops Island, VA; St. Petersburg, FL; and other Government-directed locations.
Benefits include HMO/PPO medical options, an employer-sponsored Health Reimbursement Arrangement, 401(k), dental and vision coverage, company-paid life insurance, voluntary life and AD&D coverage, pet insurance, an Employee Assistance Program, paid time off, sick leave, and paid holidays.
