Job Description

Are you looking for an opportunity to combine your programming skills with science in a regulated laboratory environment? Eurofins is seeking a Laboratory Software Specialist to support pharmaceutical laboratory operations through the development, validation, and maintenance of custom software tools and automated data solutions.

In this role, you'll work closely with laboratory and quality teams to create and enhance spreadsheet-based applications, automate data workflows, and ensure systems meet regulatory and client requirements. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career professional with Visual Basic programming experience who enjoys problem-solving, data management, and working on projects that directly support scientific testing and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain custom spreadsheet applications and Visual Basic code to automate laboratory data processing, interpretation, and transfer.
  • Collaborate with laboratory and quality teams to identify opportunities for workflow improvements and automation.
  • Create and execute validation documentation, including URS, FRS, IQ/OQ, and UAT protocols.
  • Review, test, troubleshoot, and modify existing software tools to ensure accuracy, reliability, and compliance.
  • Support regulatory and client requirements by maintaining validated systems and thorough technical documentation.
  • Assist with implementing enhancements that improve laboratory efficiency, data integrity, and reporting capabilities.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, or another related scientific discipline.
  • Exposure to programming through coursework, internships, projects, or professional experience.
  • Basic knowledge of Visual Basic, VBA, or another programming language.
  • Strong technical writing and documentation skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Microsoft Excel automation or VBA programming.
  • Internship, co-op, academic project, or laboratory experience involving data analysis or software development.
  • Exposure to software validation, quality systems, or regulated environments.
  • Familiarity with pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or laboratory operations.
  • Knowledge of GxP, data integrity, or computerized system validation concepts.
  • Ability to learn new software platforms and technologies quickly.

Additional Information

Position is full-time, Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm. with additional hours, as needed. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Lancaster, PA are encouraged to apply.
