Summary

This position is located in the Office of Information Technology, Executive Office for Immigration Review, U. S. Department of Justice. This role manages IT projects involving application development, testing, implementation, and sustainment. It coordinates requirements, resources, schedules, risks, contractors, and stakeholders to support EOIR mission needs. This is a Competitive Service position; additional positions may be filled from this announcement within 90 days of certificate issuance.

Duties

The duties and responsibilities for a IT Project Manager, GS-2210-13 generally include, but are not limited to, the following: Coordinates IT project management activities, resources, equipment, and information related to the delivery of products, platforms, or services to agencies and the public. Provides IT advice, assistance and training to customers who manage the development, production, and sustainment of systems. Collaborate with other IT Specialists and contractors in the analysis and development of future software design and programming techniques. Develops comprehensive information on the system data inputs, outputs, and related (IT) concerns.

Qualifications and evaluation

Structured Interview Assessment: Applicants will participate in an interview that evaluates your ability to meet the four competency requirements described below. All candidates are assessed using the same set of predetermined questions, asked in the same order, and rated against the same scale. Each response is scored from 1 (Unsatisfactory) to 5 (Superior). Failure to complete this assessment will result in an ineligible rating. Technical Competence Information Management Oral Communication Problem Solving Candidates who achieve a passing score will be referred to the hiring manager and may be invited for an interview. If referred, all relevant documents submitted with your application package will be forwarded to the selecting official. In accordance with 5 CFR ยง 335.103(b)(3), due weight will be given to performance appraisals and awards during the interview and selection process. Falsifying your background, education, or experience is grounds for non-selection and may result in adjustments to your scored responses, which can affect your final rating. Conditions of Employment: Only U.S. citizens or nationals are eligible for employment with the EOIR. Dual citizenship will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Applicants must also meet DOJ's residency requirement by having, for at least 3 of the 5 years immediately preceding application, either: (1) resided in the U.S., (2) worked overseas for the U.S. Government or military, or (3) been a dependent of a Federal or military employee serving overseas. This position is open to Competitive Merit Promotion, Non-Competitive, and Special Hiring Authority eligibles. You must meet the requirements for one of the following categories to be eligible. Current permanent competitive service employees; former Federal employees who achieved career status in the competitive service; or former Federal employees who served on a career conditional appointment without achieving career status in the competitive service who was separated less than 3 years ago, must submit an SF50 that indicates career or career-conditional (Tenure field 1 or 2); AND status in the competitive service (Position Occupied field 1.)
