Careers That Change Lives

We are hiring a Sr Product Manager (principal product specialist) to join the fast-paced, high-visibility Structural Heart Upstream Marketing Team, focusing on the Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) pipeline and Transcatheter Pulmonic Valve (TPV) pipeline within Medtronic’s Structural Heart business. This role is designed for someone who wants to grow as an upstream product manager and be at the center of where clinical insight, technology strategy, business opportunity, and product development come together.

Structural Heart is one of Medtech’s most exciting therapy areas and one of Medtronic’s most important growth drivers. In this role, you will help define the direction of future products, why they matter clinically and commercially, and how cross-functional teams align to bring them forward to treat patients. The work is intellectually demanding, highly collaborative, and visible to senior stakeholders. Success in this role requires curiosity, analytical rigor, technical learning agility, business judgment, and the ability to influence stakeholders across R&D, clinical, regulatory, commercial, finance, and physician communities.

A Day in a Life

  • Build deep therapy expertise across disease states, treatment pathways, physician workflows, current and emerging therapies, existing and future technologies, market trends, adoption barriers, and unmet clinical needs.
  • Represent upstream marketing on product development teams, helping translate customer insight and business strategy into product requirements, program priorities, and trade-off decisions.
  • Partner closely with R&D, clinical, regulatory, medical affairs, commercial, finance, and other key functions to shape differentiated products that are technically feasible, clinically meaningful, and commercially compelling.
  • Collect, analyze, and synthesize Voice of Customer (VOC), Voice of Business (VOB), market research, competitive intelligence, and internal stakeholder input to identify where Medtronic can make unique and worthy contributions.
  • Translate unmet needs into clear product requirements, value propositions, evidence needs, and business recommendations while negotiating priorities and trade-offs across technical, clinical, regulatory, and commercial objectives.
  • Actively engage physician key opinion leaders (KOLs), current and potential customers, internal stakeholders, and third-party market research groups to identify strategic areas of focus and pressure-test product concepts.
  • Develop business plans, market models, and opportunity assessments that evaluate new product concepts, pipeline investments, market potential, competitive differentiation, and strategic fit.
  • Monitor emerging technologies, competitive moves, treatment trends, and external market developments to inform portfolio strategy and future innovation choices.
  • Help define the future innovation and evidence pipeline and participate in strategic portfolio planning activities that influence long-term product and therapy direction.

Deliver clear, compelling presentations to internal business partners, senior leaders, and external physician experts to communicate insights, recommendations, and portfolio strategy.

Ā

  • Bring a product-manager mindset to ambiguity by framing problems, clarifying assumptions, identifying decision points, and creating practical paths forward.

  • Provide senior management and cross-functional partners with updates, reports, content, and presentations that clearly articulate priorities, risks, trade-offs, and recommendations.
  • Manage a broad stakeholder environment where perspectives may differ, priorities may compete, and influence is often required without direct authority.
