Summary

This is a National Guard Title 5 Excepted Service Position. This is a Temporary Not to Exceed (NTE) GS-2210-11 IT SPECIALIST (INFOSEC) (TITLE 5), Position Description Number T58212P1 and is part of the MO 131st Bomb Wing.

Duties

Manages the COMSEC account for the Wing/Base and subordinate units. Ensures that the COMSEC Responsible Officer's (CRO's), Secure Telephone Unit (STUIII) Voice Responsible Officer's (SRO’s) (SVRO's), and FORTEZZA Responsible Officers (FRO's), comply with applicable regulations. Report deviations from established COMSEC and Security guidelines to higher headquarters. Manages the AFEKMS program for the Wing/Base. Initializes the system, performs system backups, determines operator access and control functions (privilege management), reloads and configures the operating system’s parameters. Serves as the Base Computer Security (COMPUSEC) Manager. Serves as Wing/Base Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM). Manages, provides guidance and assists in the preparations of certification and accreditation packages in accordance with prescribing directives. Analyzes the information gathered to determine vulnerabilities, threats, and detect any compromises. Works with the Network Control Center (NCC), and the Regional Operations Security Control center (ROSC), to implement procedures to protect information on networks managed by the NCC. Manages, develops, and conducts the base computer Security Awareness Training and Education Information Assurance Awareness Program. Serves as the Telecommunications Monitoring and Assessment Program (TMAP) Manager. Manages the Base Emissions Security (EMSEC) program. Serves as the central focal point for Time Compliance Network Orders (TCNO) system vulnerability alerts. Performs other duties as assigned.

Education

Substitution of Education for Specialized Experience at the GS-11 grade level: Must have successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree OR 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position, such as computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.

Applicants claiming DOD Military Spouse preference must submit the following documentation: Marriage Certificate Spouses PCS Orders Military Spouse PPP Self Certification Checklist Applicants claiming DoD Retained Grade preference must submit the following documentation: Retained Grade PPP Self Certification Checklist (DD3145-1) SF-50 effecting the placement in retained grade status, and A copy of the notification letter received (RIF or classification downgrade)
