Supervisory Social Worker

Summary

The Social Work Supervisor manages the administrative and clinical aspects of Service, supervising Social Workers (most at the GS-12 Social Work Level), Nurses and others of various disciplines including Program Coordinators over different programs. Supervised work will be carried out throughout the Gulf Coast Veterans Health Care System (GCVHCS) which extends from Biloxi Mississippi, through Mobile, Alabama, Fort Walton Beach, Pensacola, and Panama City, Florida.

Duties

Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional Social work practice includes: - Providing consultation to VA medical facility leadership on the management of special VHA programs. - Providing clinical supervision to social workers and other consultations to VA medical facility staff on Social Work practice issues. - Case management services for Veterans at high medical or psychosocial risk, including those Veterans who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. - Case management services for chronic or seriously mentally ill Veterans. - Psychosocial screening, assessment, planning, and intervention. - Pre-admission planning and admission diversion services. - Discharge planning and coordination. - Coordination of community-based services, including information and referral. - Community liaison and networking services. - Case finding and outreach services. - Crisis intervention services. - Professional consultation. - Coordination of family conferences and liaison with family members. - Patient and family education. - Participating in a Social Work Leadership Council to work with the Social Work Chief Work Schedule: 8:00am - 4:30pm, subject to change based on the needs of the Agency. Requirements
