Job Description
U.S. Bank is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Payment Sales Consultant (PSC) to drive growth, retention, and expansion of Treasury Management solutions, including Payments, Merchant Services, and Commercial Cards, across a portfolio of insurance clients within the Financial Institutions Group (FIG) and Institutional Client Group (ICG).
The Payment Sales Consultant partners with insurance industry clients, including property & casualty carriers, life insurers, health insurers, brokers, reinsurers, and related financial services organizations, to identify opportunities, deliver strategic payment solutions, and drive revenue growth across a high-potential client portfolio.
Acting as a trusted advisor and payments subject matter expert, this individual collaborates closely with Relationship Managers, Treasury Management teams, Product partners, and other stakeholders to deepen client relationships, win new business, and deliver meaningful client outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute sales strategies to grow Payments, Merchant Services, Commercial Card, and Treasury Management revenue within assigned insurance industry relationships.
- Partner with Relationship Managers and line-of-business leaders to identify opportunities and deliver comprehensive client solutions.
- Consult with clients on payment modernization, cash management, liquidity optimization, fraud mitigation, claims disbursements, premium collection strategies, and operational efficiency initiatives.
- Present and position U.S. Bank payment solutions, including ACH, wire, commercial card, virtual card, merchant services, receivables, and payables solutions.
- Lead the sales process from discovery through implementation and ongoing relationship management.
- Build and maintain a robust pipeline of opportunities across existing and prospective insurance clients.
- Conduct executive-level client presentations and strategic business reviews.
- Maintain expertise on payments trends, emerging technologies, and industry developments impacting the insurance sector.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience.
- 10 or more years of sales experience within institutional banking, payments, treasury management, insurance banking, or financial services.
Preferred Qualifications
- Significant experience in payments, treasury management, banking, or consultative business development.
- Experience working with insurance industry clients and a strong understanding of insurance operating models, payment flows, and treasury needs.
- Demonstrated success building relationships and growing revenue with senior executives and decision-makers.
- Strong sales, presentation, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
- Knowledge of Treasury Management and payment solutions, including commercial card, virtual card, receivables, payables, and merchant services.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales and revenue goals.
- Strong understanding of payments industry trends, treasury best practices, and emerging technologies.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple business lines and stakeholders.
Location & Travel
Location is flexible within key FIG markets and will be determined based on business needs and candidate qualifications.
Periodic travel is required to support client meetings, business development activities, and industry events.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $147,420.00 - 180,180.00U.S. Bank will consider qualified applicants with arrest or conviction records for employment.
