A growing manufacturer of advanced power solutions is seeking a Sales Engineer to support continued growth across government, defense, military, industrial, and commercial markets. This role will work closely with sales, marketing, engineering, operations, and external representatives to identify, qualify, and capture new business opportunities aligned with the company's technical capabilities and revenue goals.


The ideal candidate is a technically credible, customer-facing sales professional who can uncover customer requirements, translate technical and business needs into practical solutions, and support opportunities from initial discovery through proposal, qualification, and production phases. This individual will play a key role in developing quotes, proposals, compliance matrices, system block diagrams, and other materials required to support customer RFIs, RFQs, and related opportunities.


Compensation:

  • $100,000 to $120,000 base salary, plus comprehensive benefits and a substantial bonus structure

Travel:

  • Approximately 10 to 20 percent, including customer visits, prospect meetings, conferences, trade shows, and other business development events

Responsibilities:

  • Identify new business opportunities through cold outreach, web leads, representative networks, trade shows, customer meetings, and industry networking
  • Support sales opportunities through the RFI, RFQ, capture, product qualification, low-rate initial production, and full-rate production phases
  • Work with internal teams and external representatives to develop competitive solutions that meet customer requirements and achieve acceptable margin targets
  • Use strong listening, discovery, and open-ended questioning skills to understand customer technical and business requirements
  • Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to gather technical information and develop customer-specific solutions
  • Prepare quotes and proposals, including system block diagrams, compliance matrices, schedules, and other supporting documentation
  • Provide customer support for installed equipment and assist in resolving product or application-related issues
  • Research, define, and help coordinate evaluations of new products
  • Develop and maintain strong technical knowledge of company products and services to support solution development and customer engagement
  • Field inbound calls, web inquiries, and other customer or prospect requests
  • Attend internal meetings, customer meetings, trade shows, trainings, and other required business events
  • Support trade show setup, breakdown, and related event activities as needed

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Technical sales experience, ideally in an inside or outside sales capacity
  • Working knowledge of power electronics
  • Experience selling into military, defense, government, industrial, or commercial markets
  • Experience working with ERP and CRM systems
  • Experience working with outside sales representatives or channel partners
  • Ability to develop customer quotes, proposals, and technical response materials
  • Strong communication, presentation, listening, and customer discovery skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with sales, engineering, operations, customers, and external partners
  • Strong problem-solving, prioritization, follow-through, and time management skills
  • Foundational computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Outlook, web-based applications, and online meeting platforms
  • Ability to travel approximately 10 to 20 percent

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline
  • Experience with power supplies, power electronics, or related technical products
  • Experience with Epicor or similar ERP platforms
  • Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM platforms
  • Experience supporting RFI, RFQ, capture, product qualification, LRIP, or FRP processes
  • Experience in defense, government, military, or industrial markets
  • Prior military service
  • Experience with serial communication, SNMP communication, or related third-party software tools
