We are partnering with an established manufacturer of rugged, highly reliable power solutions to identify a Regional Sales Manager supporting the Central U.S.
This is a high-impact sales role focused on developing new business, expanding existing customer relationships, and driving growth across military and commercial markets.
Location: Greater Chicago or Dallas/Fort Worth preferred
Base Salary: $140,000–$155,000
Annual Incentive: 20% target bonus, with upside for exceeding plan
Travel: Up to 50%
Responsibilities:
- Develop new business and manage existing accounts throughout the Central U.S. territory.
- Map, prioritize, penetrate, and close opportunities across military and commercial markets.
- Manage multiple manufacturers' representative firms within the region and hold representatives accountable for new business development and performance.
- Build relationships throughout customer organizations, from buyers and technical stakeholders through executive leadership.
- Identify and qualify new opportunities and coordinate travel throughout the region to meet with prospective and existing customers.
- Develop monthly, quarterly, and annual bookings forecasts.
- Understand customer requirements and work with internal teams to develop technical solutions and respond to RFPs and RFQs.
- Respond to inbound customer inquiries generated through company marketing efforts.
- Develop and deliver presentations to customers, sales representatives, and internal leadership.
- Maintain accurate customer and opportunity information within Salesforce and other forecasting tools.
- Collaborate with leadership on sales goals, planning, and short- and long-term bookings forecasts.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science required, preferably in Engineering or Management. MBA is a plus.
- 5+ years of B2B sales experience within power electronics or related technical products highly desired.
- Experience selling to end-user Department of Defense customers highly desirable.
- Experience managing manufacturers' representative firms highly desired.
- Working knowledge of CRM and ERP systems required.
- Experience developing customer quotes and proposals.
- Experience with lead generation, prospecting, and opportunity management.
- Strong leadership, self-motivation, time management, and ability to operate independently.
- Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, and presentation skills, including executive-level presence.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Salesforce experience preferred.
- Formal sales training such as Sandler or Miller Heiman is a plus.
- Experience with government contracting research platforms such as Bloomberg Government or similar tools is a plus.
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 50%, including customer visits and industry trade shows.
Compensation & Sales Incentive Plan:
Base salary is $140,000–$155,000, plus a 20% target annual sales incentive based on bookings performance.
The incentive is measured against quarterly and annual sales targets and paid quarterly. Performance above 100% of annual plan provides additional upside, with total incentive opportunity reaching up to 40% of base salary for exceptional performance.
For candidates joining during the year, the incentive target is prorated from the start date through the end of the calendar year.
There are no clawbacks. Bonuses earned during strong-performing quarters are not taken back if performance declines later in the year.
