Job Overview

The Capital & Expense Control Coordinator is a member of the team responsible for managing collateral production for Macy’s Visual Merchandising, supporting various Macy’s businesses related to in-store marketing and promotions. This role requires building relationships, negotiating with an enterprise-minded focus, navigating reflows, adapting to evolving creative changes, and possessing strong problem-solving skills. The Capital & Expense Control Coordinator reports to the Manager of Capital & Expense Control and Beauty Print Production.

What You Will Do

  • Control, process, and reconcile visual distributions and purchase orders for capital and expense purchases.
  • Develop and maintain records, financial reports, and cost analyses for Visual budgets.
  • Partner with Finance colleagues to coordinate fund transfers, reconcile final costs, and manage balance sheet functions.
  • Serve as a liaison between vendors and the visual team regarding store deliverables.
  • Negotiate pricing and organize warehouse and trucking for seasonal operational needs.
  • Negotiate pricing and organize storage and trucking for office and special project needs.
  • Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships, and ensures authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities.

 

Skills You Will Need

Relationship Building: Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

Negotiation: Proficiency in negotiating with an enterprise-minded focus.

Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving abilities.

Expense Management and Financial Analysis: Minimum of 2 years of experience in expense management and financial analysis.

Collaboration: Proven strength in collaborating with others.

Excel Proficiency: Advanced skills in Excel, including pivot tables, Vlookup, and filtering.

Project Management: Outstanding project management skills.

Organization: Excellent organizational skills.

Communication: Effective communication skills.

Troubleshooting: Ability to pivot, troubleshoot, and navigate reflows in a reactive business environment.

Mathematical Skills: Accelerated math skills and strategic thinking.

Teamwork: Solid ability to work both as part of a team and independently with minimal supervision.

Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to gain respect and cooperation from peers and high-level executives.

Who You Are

  • Candidates with a bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a related field are encouraged to apply. 2+ years of experience in expense management, project management or financial analysis is preferred. 
  • This role involves performing essential job functions such as communication, collaboration, and use of office and computer systems. Responsibilities include the ability to access and review written and electronic information, and to move within the work environment and interact with workplace materials as needed to carry out job responsibilities.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule based on department and company needs.
