Job Description

The following responsibilities represent the essential functions of this position but are not intended to be an exhaustive list. Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities as business needs require.

  • Assist with investigating and resolving customer product quality concerns using established quality procedures and problem-solving methods.
  • Assist with preparing and documenting 8D reports for customer quality issues.
  • Process Return Material Authorizations (RMAs) as directed.
  • Communicate with customers and internal departments to gather information needed to understand and investigate product concerns.
  • Assist with customer visits and on-site investigations as needed.
  • Receive, inspect, and evaluate returned products to help determine the cause of failures.
  • Perform product testing and help recreate customer-reported failures.
  • Use basic problem-solving tools, including 5 Whys and cause-and-effect analysis, to assist in identifying root causes.
  • Document findings clearly and accurately.
  • Assist with assigning and tracking corrective-action activities to ensure tasks are completed on time.
  • Assist in reviewing corrective actions to determine whether they effectively address the identified issue.
  • Assist with updates to production processes, work instructions, and controls when required.
  • Assist with Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and other quality documentation as directed.
  • Maintain accurate records and complete required Q-Pulse reporting.
  • Follow established quality procedures, work instructions, and company policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Manufacturing, mechanical, hydraulic, or quality-related experience is preferred but not required.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to read and understand basic hydraulic schematics or willingness to learn.
  • Ability to set up and perform basic hydraulic tests after appropriate training.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn company software and quality systems.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately document information.
  • Dependable and willing to take ownership of assigned tasks.
  • Ability to work independently after training and complete daily assignments with minimal supervision.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Ability to safely lift and move up to 50 pounds without assistance.

Preferred Qualifications

The following qualifications are preferred but are not required for entry into the position:

  • Associate degree or technical education in Engineering, Manufacturing, Mechanical Technology, or a related field.
  • Previous manufacturing or quality experience.
  • Basic knowledge of hydraulic systems, fluid mechanics, or hydraulic circuits.
  • Experience with Q-Pulse or similar quality management software.
  • Familiarity with Minitab or other statistical analysis software.
  • Exposure to Six Sigma or other structured problem-solving methods.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
  • NFPA certification.

  • Follow all company Quality, Environmental, Health & Safety policies and procedures.
  • Participate in maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
  • Take reasonable care for personal safety and the safety of others.
  • Report safety hazards, accidents, incidents, or potentially unsafe conditions to the appropriate supervisor or manager.
  • Properly use all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Follow all applicable manufacturing, quality, and safety procedures.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this position, the employee may be required to:

  • Lift and move products or materials weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform hands-on inspection and testing activities.
  • Perform hands-on troubleshooting and product evaluation in a manufacturing environment.
  • Wear required PPE, including safety glasses, protective gloves, and safety shoes.

Work Environment

  • Work is primarily performed in a manufacturing environment.
  • Temperatures may vary from warm to cool depending on the season.
  • Noise levels may range from moderate to high.
  • The employee may be exposed to hydraulic oil, oil odors, and industrial sealants such as Loctite.
  • Required PPE must be worn as directed.
  • Employees are expected to maintain a professional, safe, and clean work environment.

Additional Information

The hourly range for this postion is $23-$27 per hour
