2027 Summer Intern: HR Compliance Intern

As our global footprint continues to spread across the world, we are looking for an HR Compliance Intern to join our team in Northbrook, IL.

This role is hybrid - 3 days a week on-site at the Northbrook Office.

Responsibilities

The HR Compliance Intern provides administrative, research, reporting, and project support across regional HR compliance activities. The role reports to the Americas Regional HR Compliance and Labor Relations Manager and provides HR Compliance support across the Americas, APAC, and EMEA. This internship offers exposure to regional HR compliance, audit readiness, and HR governance activities across all three regions. Responsibilities include assisting with audits, preparing reports and presentations, and helping maintain visibility into key HR compliance initiatives. The role provides practical experience in a multinational HR compliance environment while supporting the consistent application of HR processes and procedural requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Regional HR Compliance and Labor Relations Managers with HR compliance, audit readiness, and governance activities across the Americas, APAC, and EMEA.
• Organize and maintain HR compliance documentation, trackers, process materials, and regional reference resources.
• Track action items, remediation plans, audit requests, and follow-up activities related to HR compliance, Internal Audit, and SOX processes.
• Prepare reports, dashboards, presentations, and summaries related to compliance risks, audit readiness, and regional initiatives.
• Prepare training materials, communications, and guidance documents for regional HR teams.
• Track HR compliance-related government submissions, deadlines, vendor deliverables, and project milestones. 
• Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive HR information with care and professionalism.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Learn how various HR functions operate and contribute to the employee experience within a midsized company.
• Gain practical experience translating complex regulatory and procedural topics and data into clear summaries, tools, and communications for HR stakeholders. 

Qualifications

What Makes You a Great Fit:

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field.
• Interest in HR compliance, risk management, audit, data analytics, or HR operations.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to organize information accurately.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Professionalism, discretion, and the ability to maintain confidentiality when working with sensitive HR information.
• Prior internship, coursework, or project experience related to HR, compliance, audit, or data analysis is preferred but not required. 
• Indefinite right to work in the United States

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
• Working knowledge of data analytics and the ability to organize, review, analyze, and summarize HR data for reporting and compliance insights.
• Ability to work with spreadsheets, trackers, reports, and presentation materials.
• Interest in using data, reporting tools, and emerging AI-enabled tools to support research, analysis, and process improvement while maintaining appropriate confidentiality and governance standards.
• Experience with HR systems is helpful but not required. 

What we offer:

Total Rewards: The hourly rate for this position is $25.00. Qualified candidates may be eligible for a sign-on bonus to assist with housing, travel, and other relocation expenses, subject to terms and conditions. Your internship will consist of a 10-12 weeklong project, networking, learning & development opportunities, and will provide you with the opportunity to make a real world impact.
