Duties
Provide advice and assistance to the DISA management staff on all administrative legal matters. Provide legal support to the designated DISA Program Managers for various programs such as Ethics in Government, Freedom of Information, the Privacy Act, Reasonable Accommodation, Anti-Harassment, etc. Prepare and present cases on behalf of the agency before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), Merit Systems Protection Board (MSPB), and/or any other personnel, employment, or labor law related administrative or judicial forum. Assist the General Counsel in the legal review and approval of various aspects of civilian personnel management such as employee participation in outside activities or private associations, equal employment matters and adverse actions. Serve as an alternate Ethics and Standards of Conduct counselor.

This position is in the Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. If you are a current Federal Career/Career-Conditional employee, you will be placed on an Excepted appointment. This appointment does not confer eligibility to be non-competitively converted to an appointment in the competitive service. A two year trial period may be required if you have not previously completed a trial or probationary period.
