Job Overview

The Seasonal Hourly Recruiting Champion is responsible for generating applicant traffic by positioning Macy’s as the employer of choice in their market. A successful seasonal hourly recruiting champion will collaborate with Talent Acquisition partners (and store leadership) on a regular basis to proactively identify hiring needs. In this position the colleague will focus on community-based talent sourcing and canvassing to generate applicant traffic from organizations, events, and individuals throughout their community; while generating referrals and building connections. The seasonal hourly recruiting champion should be able to attract candidates using various sources, including social media networks. The colleague chosen for this role will have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to represent the Macy’s Employment Brand within their community, promoting Macy’s reputation as the best place to work!

• They act with urgency and accountability. They follow up quickly with prospective candidates, track recruiting activities and results, manage leads within the applicant tracking system, and ensure every candidate receives a positive and engaging experience.

Full-time colleagues are typically scheduled to work 30 or more hours per week, while part-time colleagues are typically scheduled 12-24 hours per week. All schedules contain weekend shifts as part of the requirements. Who You Are and Skills You Will Need

Strong Communication: Ability to clearly and professionally engage with candidates and team members both verbally and in writing.

Candidate-Centered Approach: Commitment to delivering a positive candidate experience through genuine hospitality and respectful interactions.

Interviewing Skills: Proficiency in conducting structured interviews, assessing candidate qualifications, and making objective hiring recommendations.

Organizational Abilities: Efficiently manage interview schedules, candidate information, and follow-up tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Attention to Detail: Ensure accuracy in documenting candidate responses and maintaining compliance with hiring policies.

Team Collaboration: Work effectively with hiring managers, supervisors, and other stakeholders to meet hiring goals.

Tech Savvy: Comfortable using Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), video/audio interview platforms, and other recruitment tools.

Adaptability: Ability to adjust to shifting priorities and processes during peak hiring periods.

Confidentiality: Maintain candidate and company information with discretion and professionalism.

Essential Physical Requirements You Will Perform

• This position requires talking, lifting, constant moving, standing, and reaching with arms and hands.
• Standing for at least two consecutive hours, lifting at least 25lbs., stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders, reaching, including above eye level.
• Requires close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
• Frequent use of computers and other technology, necessary to perform job functions, including handheld equipment, cash register and ability to process register transactions.
