Summary

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply.

Duties

GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Incumbent serves as a Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Program (RRTP) Senior Licensed Professional Mental Health Counselor (LPMHC) at the GS-12 level. A GS-12 Senior LPMHC int he RRTP program has advanced skills for working with veterans who experience chronic homelessness, substance abuse problems and persistent mental illness. A GS-12 Senior LPMHC has a master's degree in counseling granted by a graduate program and also has an active clinical license at the Advance Practice level. This RRTP Program is within the Behavioral Health Service Line. The incumbent will be certified to provide clinical supervision toward licensure. The incumbent will be the senior clinician and will provide support to Admissions, conduct day of admission assessments and other clinical assessments as a part of the admission process. The Admissions Senior Clinician at VA SORCC RRTP primary responsibilities are care coordination, initial screening of and treatment recommendations for Veterans who are seeking admission to RRTP, provide brief case management services, provide guidance and consultation to referring providers and Veterans seeking admission to RRTP, act as a subject matter expert regarding VA SORCC RRTP services, the admission process, be knowledgeable regarding community and VA resources and provide continuous quality improvement activities. Incumbent independently provides biopsychosocial and other assessments as well as post discharge engagement calls. The Admissions Clinician is administratively responsible for clinical processes and decision making as assigned. The Admissions Clinician collaborates with other services within the VA SORCC, as well as community partners. Requirements
